Ruined Passage is a ruined Snow Elf passage that leads to (and is then reentered from) the Ruined Caldera. The entrance is located behind the Wayshrine of Learning, up a flight of stairs and through a set of double doors.
Walkthrough[edit]
Entering from Forgotten Vale[edit]
The first small area is tiled, but you have to climb up a slope of rough rock to ascend to the next part of the passage.
As you enter the main room, there are two Falmer standing by the brazier in the room. There is a grate to the left, with a chest and other loot located behind it, but at this point you cannot access it.
Entering from Ruined Caldera[edit]
The second part of the Ruined Passage leads up several staircases and turns. First, go left, and when the stairs lead to the right you will find another Falmer standing in your way. to the area on the other side of the grate, where you can collect the treasures. After this, there is a cave-in directly ahead so the only option is to use the Falmer tunnel to the left. More Glowing Mushrooms light the way and can be collected.
At the far end of this tunnel is a larger room where a large gap in the left wall serves as a natural window. You cannot exit to the Ruined Caldera through this hole. Directly ahead is a leveled Falmer, but also keep in mind the one who will burst through the wall on the right once you get close enough, and send boulders rolling. There may be an additional leveled Falmer for a total of three enemies.
Once the battle is over, you can further inspect the area. Behind where the boulders were is a Falmer Pod you cannot enter.
Another tunnel at the far end of this room leads to the treasure chest area on the other side of the grate. A Falmer Chest and a bucket full of Glowing Mushrooms are on the right, while a flight of stairs leads up to the grate on the left. Next to the grate is a pull chain, which reveals the grate to be a gate that opens. You can now go back the way you came and return to the Vale.
