One night there was a heavy snowfall around the monastery. In the morning, the novices of the monastery, due to the huge snowdrifts, barely made it into the meditation hall. The teacher began the lesson by asking:
"What should be done in this situation?"
One of the novices replied: "We need to pray for a thaw."
The second answered: "Let's wait out the snow in our cells."
The third said: "Anyone who has learned the truth should be indifferent whether there is snow or not."
Then the teacher said: "Listen to me."
The novices drew themselves up and prepared to hear great wisdom.
The teacher looked at each of them carefully, sighed and replied:
"Take shovels in your hands - and go!"
Remember, only action is the most important condition for change.
