I'm not sure if the following bugs leading to crashes are associated purely with the game or as a consequence of running it in DosBox on a modern (2011) computer:
(1) occasionally a magic item, instead of disappearing after its mana runs out, remains in inventory, but if you try to use its magic thereafter, the game crashes to the DOS prompt. The problem can be "solved" by selling or otherwise getting rid of the bugged item.
(2) In one dungeon, The Pit of Sahas in Sentinel, when one uses either of the two throne room levers which activate a large bridge segment near the ceiling (a common object in many dungeons), the game is corrupted so that the next attempt to save the game leads to the game crashing to the DOS prompt. The problem can be "solved" by not activating either switch. If you need to cross the bridge, then use levitate. Oddly, other switches throughout the dungeon did not have the same effect, only the throne room switches corrupted the game. Interestingly, although the switches invisibly damaged the game, they still operated in-game correctly, moving the bridge segment properly into the gap between the ends of the overhead bridge.
Other dungeons using a similar object (a large, moveable, overhead bridge segment in a throne room), did not corrupt the game when their corresponding switches were thrown.
Because this type of corruption doesn't crash the computer until a save attempt is made, it can be very confusing since the last "good" prior save could have been made after a long elapse of time and dungeon movement. I my case that's exactly what happened, and I lost about 10-15 minutes of exploration in the dungeon. Fortunately I had saved just prior to throwing the switch, so narrowing down and discovering the problem was fairly straightforward, if not surprising and confusing at first.
Since the crash would occur prior to a save actually being completed, there was fortunately no danger in accidentally overwriting the good save file with the corrupted one. The only thing lost was a lot of exploration time.

To Point 8: Think this just happened to me. I am not sure. Despcription: Slept in Dungeon to recover, with sword in hand. In the moment of awakening there seemed to be an irritating magical effect. In the Inventory I still have my sword at hand. I can equip and store it or equip anonther blade. - But in the game i have no blade in my hand any more. None of it. I had to fight hand-to-hand with few success ... sleeping (or loitering) again won't help either. Neither did saving and loading again. Couldn't help myself so far and had to load an older savegame.
