"No matter the seed, if the shoot is nurtured with love, will not the flower be beautiful?" —Sibyl Augustine Viliane[1][2]

Lady Augustine Viliane was a Breton Sibyl of Wayrest's chapter of the House of Dibella. Aside from her role as a high-ranking member of the clergy, she also authored books and letters addressing topics of faith, including Dibella's Mysteries and Revelations.[1][2]

History[edit]

Little is known of Augustine Viliane's past. She joined the House of Dibella and eventually became one of its Sibyls. She resided in Wayrest.[3] At some point in her life, she lost her sight due to the Great Flu, but when questioned about her blindness, she didn't consider it significant and would express that it didn't impede her ability to dance.[1]

At one point, on a day in the month of Second Seed, she welcomed several new novices to their vocation in the House of Dibella and answered many of their questions. She recounts that day in her publication Dibella's Mysteries and Revelations.[1]

In 2E 582, she answered many questions regarding the faith of Dibella through correspondence. During this process, she received a cryptic message about the supposed location of the Brush of Truepaint and how it could be obtained. She also addressed many of her correspondents' questions, sharing insights on topics related to the worship of Dibella. Her responses covered the goddess's views on specific aspects of love, the elven lineage within the Breton family of Dumonte, certain practices of the ancient Nords, the extinction of the Kothringi, and her temple's stance on the undead, among other subjects.[2]
