Casik was the King of Ebonheart during the Imperial Simulacrum of the late Third Era.[1] In his time, he had a reputation for his extreme ruthlessness.[2]

When Casik was born and became the King of Ebonheart is unknown, but he assumed his role by the Imperial Simulacrum. King Casik hoped to rediscover the lost mines of Dagoth-Ur and use the raw metal of the mountain to create the finest weapons and armor in the realm. He also wanted to revive the forgotten art of Dwemer smithcraft. He had the Anvil of Mithas but needed the Hammer of Gharen for it to reveal its location.[1]

At the time, he heard rumors of the Eternal Champion's search for Dagoth-Ur, where the last piece of the Staff of Chaos was left behind by Jagar Tharn.[1] He offered to help the warrior uncover the dungeon's location if they could retrieve the hammer from Black Gate. Once the Eternal Champion returned with the artifact, King Casik struck it on the Anvil of Mithas and provided the warrior with Dagoth-Ur's location.[3]
