Eerika Skjoralmor was a Thane,[1][2] and later a Jarl of Falkreath.[3] She was a member of Skjoralmor Clan and a descendant of Bjarfrud Skjoralmor.[4][5] She was crowned in 2E 582, during the Interregnum after leading successful defense of the town from the Dreadhorn Clan invasion.[3] Her father and predecessor Hjurgol Skjoralmor was neither popular nor a well-loved Jarl but Eerika commanded significant respect from her subjects.[6]

History[edit]

Eerika was born during the Interregnum, in the 50s of the sixth century of Second Era to Jarl of Falkreath Hjurgol Skjoralmor and his wife.[1][UOL 1]

In 2E 561,[UOL 1] Eerika, who was a young child at that time, traveled to Solitude together with her mother. While they ventured north to attend High King Svargrim's coronation her father remained at the Falkreath Hold. Eerika together with her mother and escort briefly stayed in Rorikstead. Soon after they left the settlement they were ambushed by a giantess' herd of mammoths. During the encounter Eerika shown exceptional bravery and distracted the attackers saving the life of one of her guards. While Eerika survived, her mother died during the attack.[1]

This event affected her life significantly. While her father succumbed to alcoholism due to the death of his wife she stepped up to carry the burden and became a more prominent figure in the Hold. At the age of twelve, she strode into the dens of bears to fight the famine of an early winter. When she was sixteen she chased Orc raiders from Falkreath hold assisted by a group of loyal warriors. She became Thane when she was nineteen, earning her title by deed rather than due to her lineage. She achieved that by slaughtering rampaging frost troll Raudhungr who was a danger to the Hold's safety. Over this time she became a beloved and popular figure among the inhabitants of Falkreath.[1]

In 2E 582 her father Hjurgol did not act justly and ignored warnings and reports of his subordinates in the days leading to the sacking of Falkreath.[5] The Jarl took to hiding in his longhouse, while Eerika led the remnants of the resistance.[7][8] She held the town for some time until the intervention of the Undaunted, who delved through the battlefield and aided the Thane in their efforts to save the city. Her father was killed by the minotaur leader of the alliance between minotaurs and the Dreadhorn Clan Domihaus in his own throne room. The group of warriors managed to avenge his death and defeat the Minotaur and Reachfolk of the Dreadhorn Clan.[3]

Eerika was crowned a Jarl of Falkreath the same day the invasion was repelled and bestowed the title of Thane to the group of adventurers who helped to save her Hold.[3] She expressed the desire to set a better example than her father who abandoned his own people in the time of need and pledged to rebuild the city, improve its defenses, ensure the safety and recovery of wounded and bury the fallen. She hoped to convince neighboring Holds to lend their aid to hasten the recovery of Falkreath.[6] Her leadership was met with the astounding support of her subjects.[9][10]
