Frostbreak Chalice

The Frostbreak Chalice is a goblet emblazoned with the seal of Frostbreak Fortress. It was believed by some that the chalice possessed the ability to infuse any beverage consumed from it with restorative qualities.[1][2]

History[edit]

Frostbreak Chalice originally belonged to the last commander of the Breton fort known as the Frostbreak Fortress. It later went into Orcish hands after Chief Ghastzog of the Marag Clan took over the fort, and legends grew around it giving restorative properties to everything drunk from the cup, and an Orcish tradition grew from it. During the Interregnum, it changed hands once again and was claimed by the Reachfolk Briarheart Urfon Ice-Heart, the leader of the Winterborn Clan who disposed of the cup for ruining the taste of his wine.[1] It was later rumored to have been reclaimed by one of his underlings and hidden in one of the fortress's towers.[3]

During King Kurog's reign in 2E 582, the House of Orsimer Glories was on a quest to acquire culturally significant artifacts for their museum. Among the many relics they sought was Frostbreak Chalice.[4][1] It was eventually recovered by an adventurer hired for the job, who found it in the southeastern tower of the Frostbreak Fortress. The chalice was safely delivered and displayed in the museum in Orsinium.[3]
