Lore:Red Templars

The Red Templars (or Red Dome Templars) were a branch of crusaders in the Imperial Legion active during the Third Empire. They had some affiliation with the Cult of Talos, but they were considered psychotic, and were believed to drink the dragonblood of Talos to gain temporary martial shouting powers. Due to the rest of the Legion hating them and the Elder Council's desires to see them dispersed, the order was pushed to undesirable and faraway regions, including Morrowind. They were still an active organization in the late Third Era, by which time they were notorious for not taking orders, despite theoretically being a part of the Legion's chain of command.

Following the signing of the White-Gold Concordat, the worship of Talos was banned in the Empire. It is unknown how this event affected the Red Templars.
