The unnamed rune-language is that which is inscribed in its own alphabet upon the magical, enigmatic runestones that once littered Tamriel[1] and the realms of Oblivion.[2] It is not derived from any known historic or pre-Dawn culture.[3] Runes have specific, measurable meanings and serve as a common language among enchanters that allow them to repeatably imbue items with mystical properties.[4]
