Ansei Satameh, the Tigress of Dragonstar was an ancient Yokudan sword singer warrior and mother of two other Ansei warriors known as the twins of sword and spear, Ra Hasa and Ra Huzar,[1][2] whose teachings inspired generations of Redguard swordmasters.[3]
History[edit]
Little is known about her life, but it is known that she gave birth to twins: Ra Huzar, a master of the spear,[4] and Ra Hasa, a skilled swordswoman,[5] both revered as Ansei themselves. She also earned the moniker of the Tigress of Dragonstar. Following her passing, she was laid to rest in the Valley of Blades alongside her children, with each of them honored by a commemorative statue.[1][2][6]
The teachings of Satameh remained highly esteemed and were followed by Redguard swordmasters as late as 2E 582. They were listed alongside the teachings and principles of other Ansei such as Divad Hunding, Ra Abah, and Kalam. According to these teachings, while a warrior may refine their skills to excellence and sharpen their blade to cut through stone and steel effortlessly, the measure of a true swordsman lies in the caliber of adversaries they attract.[3]
Amid the Planemeld crisis, Sai Sahan journeyed to the sword-school in the Valley of Blades to obtain the Ring of Stendarr's Mercy but faced Mannimarco and his Daedric followers. Mannimarco attempted to halt Sai Sahan by resurrecting the remains of Satameh and her children, but they were ultimately vanquished.[6]
