Oblivion map shows Cespar[edit]
This article states, "By the late Third Era, the island appeared to be considered part of High Rock in certain maps." According to the map of western Tamriel, the island on the Oblivion map must be Cespar. The shapes match and Cespar is east of Herne, almost directly south of Daggerfall. —Dillonn241 (talk) 08:57, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
- I agree with that. Technically Herne would be visible on the Oblivion map if that island is Cespar, but it was probably removed because its not considered part of High Rock. Good catch. --Jimeee (talk) 09:01, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
- I can't find an original source for any island in that region being included in the original codex maps. The ones for both High Rock and Hammerfell we have on the wiki don't include it, and LadyNerevar's original combined map as displayed on The Imperial Library here doesn't have either Herne or Cespar either. Was it a fan-made addition? Mindtrait0r (talk) 22:36, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
- The island does show up on the official full map, but it is colored as a neutral(?) white, the same as Stirk. As for the composite map stitched from the high-res maps, I have no idea if the island is fan-drawn or an official illustration that was added on. Its possible that there were more high res images from this time period that we are unaware of, as many of those images were lost to website updates (even our own maps of the provinces are not as high quality as the original resolution for example). So its hard to say either way. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 22:46, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
