Ebony armor

Ebony weapons and armor are created from a rare form of volcanic glass buried in the lava flows from Vvardenfell's Red Mountain. The items are so-named because of their opaque black, glassy surface; in reality, Ebony is a black wood. Ebony items are very high quality and are much sought-after.

Armor Locations

Despite being the second most valuable armor in the game, Ebony is surprisingly common, and you will likely acquire a full set during the Main Quest. Several non-essential characters wear partial or full suits of Ebony. In other cases, it is most often well-defended or hidden.
