Milyn Faram

Milyn Faram is a Telvanni sorcerer of some renown, whose residence at the tower of Odirniran is under siege by a group of Hlaalu. He has taken Vedelea Othril prisoner for "experiments", and her sisters Farare and Remasa brought a rescue party to try and save her. Depending on which House you have joined, you will either help them or stop them.

Faram wears a common robe, a pair of common shoes and a random leveled amulet. Furthermore, he carries a silver staff and a key to his tower with him. Aside from his natural resistance to fire and the sanctuary provided by his ancestors, he knows an impressive selection of spells: Weakness to Corprus Disease, Vivec's Wrath, Daedric Bite, Dispel, Blood Despair, Absorb Willpower, Absorb Intelligence, Spell Absorption, Vivec's Feast, Wild Spelldrinker, Weak Spelldrinker, Sotha's Mirror, Reflect, Dire Weakness to Shock, Dire Weakness to Poison, Dire Weakness to Magicka, Dire Weakness to Frost, Dire Weakness to Fire, Deadly Poison, Wild Distraction, Strong Shock Shield, Strong Frost Shield, Strong Fire Shield, Great Feather and Burden of Sin.

Dialogue[edit]

In addition to the quest-related interactions that are described below, it is possible to speak with Milyn Faram if you are not a member of House Telvanni. He will, however, be far less talkative in that case:

  • Odirniran
    • "Odirniran is mine. You shall not take it from me."

Quest-Related Events[edit]

Odirniran[edit]

You can find Milyn Faram near the apex of the tower. If you mention his dwellings of choice before you have dealt with the Hlaalu invaders, he will ask you to kill their leader and to leave his prisoner, the mer whom the Hlaalu forces intend to save, be:

  • Odirniran
    • "Yes, Odirniran is my home. If you wish to help me, please kill Remasa Othril, the leader of these Hlaalu who pester me. Feel free to kill my servants. I can usually raise them again. Also, please leave Vedelea Othril to me. I do not want her damaged or altered in any way... At least not by you."

If you killed Remasa Othil but, contrary to what you were asked to do, also killed her sister, Milyn Faram will be less than pleased:

  • Odirniran
    • [Disposition -10.] "Is [sic] Remasa Othril is dead, yes, but you also killed her sister, Vedelea Othril. I was... saving her for an experiment of mine and now you've ruined it. Report back to Aryon that I am well. And don't come here every [sic] again."
    • Goodbye.

On the other hand, if you left his prisoner alone, he will offer to discuss his research with you. Accepting this offer will cause his disposition towards you to increase and will prompt the sorcerer to reward you with some useful scrolls to boot:

  • Odirniran
    • "Is Remasa Othril dead? She is? Excellent. I can get on with my experiments. Since you helped me with these meddling Hlaalu, I might be persuaded to share the results of my research."
    • Listen to what he has to say.
      • "Scrolls of summoning are, without exception, based on the Law of Similarity as you must know. While others use parts of the creature, such as Daedra skin for summoning Daedra, I have developed a new methods [sic], based on a recovered Dwemer machine. My scrolls only have an image of the Daedra, which works almost as well as a Daedra skin or heart... And at a fraction of the cost."
      • Keep listening.
        • [Disposition +10. 7 Milyn Faram's Scroll has been added to your inventory.] "Yes, quite. Why not take a sample of these new scrolls and examine them yourself? Now, if you will excuse me, I really must get back to work now."
        • Goodbye.
      • Leave.
        • [Disposition -10.] "You are not interested in my research? Fine, then. I have important work to do."
        • Goodbye.
    • Not interested.
      • [Disposition -10.] "You are not interested in my research? Fine, then. I have important work to do."
      • Goodbye.

If you mention Odirniran again after you have reported the death of Remasa Othril (and, possibly, her sister) to him, he will say:

  • "It is so much happier here now that Remasa Othril is dead. Now, go away, I have work to do."
  • Goodbye.

Notes[edit]

  • Milyn Faram's research has resulted in magical scrolls that can be used to summon Daedroth. If you rescue him from the Hlaalu and keep Vedelea unharmed, he will give you 7 of these. They can also be found in many other places as random loot. One guaranteed copy can be found on a table in Assu.
  • Milyn is seemingly depicted on the Odirniran Necromancer card in Legends.
