Quest-Related Events[edit]

In the lower level of the Doomvault, you can find Deejos strapped into a device. You will need to stop the ritual before her soul is drained away. You can destroy the Soul Siphon Array first, but the backlash can kill Deejos. However, if you first weaken the ritual by destroying the two nearby Ritual Focus Crystals, Deejos has a better chance of surviving.

When you destroy the Soul Siphon Array located in front of the device, your previous actions will decide what happens next:

Deejos trapped in the Soul Siphon ritual

Destroyed the Focus Crystals first:

Mirri Elendis: "You're free! Come on!"
Deejos: "You came back for me?"

Destroying the Soul Siphon Array first:

<Deejos is killed.>
Mirri Elendis: "Hope you make it back to your trees, Deejos. We need to keep moving."

You can then follow the pair down the path, where you can talk with Deejos:

"Thanks to you, there will be something left for the Hist when my time finally comes … but I did not expect the Dark Elf to stick her neck out for me."
Why not?
"Dark Elves have not been kind to my egg-kin, and I have not been kind to theirs in turn. I see I judged her too harshly. I should apologize to her … and her brother, if he still lives. He was taken prisoner by Xigira, personally."
Do you know where she took him?
"To the heart of the vault, she said. Farther down this path. Where it leads, I cannot say. I don't even recognize this place anymore. I only know it dries my scales worse than Ebonheart."

Once you have stopped all Xigira and the cultist's rituals, you can find Deejos if she survived, at the camp near the river once you leave Doomvault Vulpinaz:

Liam was Rescued
Liam Died
"I am glad you were able to rescue Liam. I could not look Mirri in the face if she had fished a bitter, old lizard from the mire at the cost of her own loved one.
If more Dark Elves were like them there would be fewer Argonians like me."
"You were able to save me, but not Liam? Surely Mirri regrets the time she wasted sparing my hide. If our positions were juxtaposed, I know that is how I would feel.
I should show her my gratitude, but my words would only salt her wounds."
