Delvers are Nords hired by Kireth and Raynor Vanos to assist them in excavating the Dragon mound at Taarengrav. You must save them from the Worm Cult's clutches during the related quest.

When you free them, they'll say one of several lines before running off to safety in Ivarstead:

Delver: "I'll head for Ivarstead. Good luck."

Delver: "Don't worry about me, I'll get out of here!"

Delver: "It's not far to Ivarstead. Wish me luck!"

Delver: "Thank you!

Delver: "I can make it back on own. My thanks!"

After you free the third Delver, they'll tell you where the Cult is holding Kireth.

Delver: "They've got Kireth too! She's in the tent behind the dragon mound."
