Before you speak to Falette, you can speak to him:

"So we're going to live? I thought those bandits were going to kill us!"

After freeing the hostages, he'll be in the road with the other townsfolk surrounding the body of Lauravieve Mondorie:

"Poor mother. She didn't deserve this fate."

Complete the quest and he'll add:

"Why? Why would they kill her? She was cooperating! She gave them the jewels!"

After completing Fell's Justice, he'll be in his mother's shop:

"My mother had a passion for jewels and jewelry, and she built this business from nothing.
I never thought I'd wind up running it myself. Without her, I'm not sure I have what it takes. I'm going to try though."
