During the fight, the Ascendant Lord Bacaro will understandably be using alot of fire-based attacks. There are two main mechanics in the fight, firstly is the phase where the boss will summon many molten balls of rock which will roll across the cavern floor. They are AoE attacks which reach the entire length of the battle terrain.

The second mechanic involves the phases when Lord Bacaro leaves the field and Frii's assistance. Once Lord Bacaro leaves the field, several Shards of Mount Firesong will appear. Frii will ask you to destroy them, so they can absorb the essence, this is important because Lord Bacaro is not idle. After a set amount of time, the boss will cause the cavern to rapidly fill with lava, leaving only a pillar to stand on. To reach that pillar, Frii will need to have enough essence to use their Wind Vortex ability before the lava flood attack is started.

Apotheosis

After you find out the truth about Lord Bacaro and confront him in Mount Firesong, he will be attempting to exert control over the Spirit of Mount Firesong. The Avatar of Mount Firesong will be summoned, and once it has been defeated, Lord Bacaro will use the stolen Druid King's Regalia to merge with the spirit:

Lord Bacaro Volorus: "Spirit of Mount Firesong, lend me your strength. Give me the power to destroy my enemies!"
<Lord Bacaro floats before the spirit and the three symbols of the Druid King's Regalia appear. The Spirit of Mount Firesong spreads its arms and dissolves while Lord Bacaro will conflagrate and become something new.>
The Ascendant Lord Bacaro: "I am Lord Bacaro, the Ascendant Lord, the Druid King! Soon the alliances will be nothing but cinders and ash!"
<The Ascendant Lord Bacaro teleports away.>
Frii: "He joined with the spirit. Now the volcano will follow its nature. It will explode."
The Ascendant Lord Bacaro

You will then need to race against time to reach the top of the volcano through the tunnels, as the lava steadily rises. The Ascendant Lord Bacaro will be waiting for you. Before combat begins, he will call out to you:

The Ascendant Lord Bacaro: "When the lava flows, the Alliance Leaders will die!"

When combat begins:

The Ascendant Lord Bacaro: "No more alliances. No more Ruby Throne. The era of the Ivy Throne begins!"

When he's conjuring fiery aoes:

The Ascendant Lord Bacaro: "Face the fury of Mount Firesong!"
The Ascendant Lord Bacaro: "Drown in the fire of the mountain!"
The Ascendant Lord Bacaro: "Mount Firesong, obey your king!"
The Ascendant Lord Bacaro: "I am the inferno!"

When he reappears to fight you:

The Ascendant Lord Bacaro: "You can't defeat me!"
The Ascendant Lord Bacaro: "First you, then all who oppose the Ivy Throne!"

When he's channeling to let lava flow the arena:

The Ascendant Lord Bacaro: "Drown in the fire of the mountain!"
The Ascendant Lord Bacaro: "Let the lava engulf you!"
The Ascendant Lord Bacaro: "I and the mountain are one!"

When you vanquish him, he utters his final words:

The Ascendant Lord Bacaro: "I am the Druid King! The birthright is mine! How dare you defy the…."
Frii: "You are not worthy of the regalia, false king."
The Ascendant Lord Bacaro: "The spirit of Mount Firesong fled when the false king died. The volcano has no spirit to calm it now."
