Find Kimeema's dagger in Taebod's lair

Kimeema told of a Xivkyn who can hold open a portal to Coldharbour, enabling an endless stream of Daedra to emerge.

On the body of <<1>> I found a dagger with "Kimeema" etched into the hilt.

Detailed Walkthrough

Method 1: Find the Dagger First

You could start this quest in one of two ways: the first was killing Taebod the Gatekeeper and looting Kimeema's Dagger off of her corpse, then interacting with it in your inventory.

On the body of Taebod the Gatekeeper I found a dagger with the name "Kimeema" etched into the hilt.

If I find Kimeema, I can return her dagger.

You would then need to locate Kimeema and return the dagger.

I found this dagger on a dead Dremora [sic]. Is it yours?

"You found it. You have my thanks, friend. Not a practical weapon, I know. But it's still precious to me.
Please take this as a reward. It will just weigh me down. I must travel light if I'm to slay all these Daedra."

Method 2: Find Kimeema First

The second method of starting this quest would be to talk to Kimeema first.

"At most portals, slaying the guards can cause it to flicker and collapse. But some of these cursed Xivkyn can keep a portal open, calling forth Daedra by the hundreds. We fought one of them, Taebod the Gatekeeper.
The beast has moved on. I believe I know where."

"My friends and I spotted a half-assembled portal. I believe she seeks to open it. I will mark it on your map.
If you defeat her, seek my dagger. Her filthy banekin took it during the battle. It was a gift from my Sulla …. It is precious to me."

You would then track down Taebod the Gatekeeper in the Wavering Veil and slay her, finding Kimeema's Dagger on her corpse. The next step is simple: take the dagger back to Kimeema, who would be where you last left her.

"Unless this is about Taebod or her portals, I don't have time for it."

Taebod is dead and this dagger is yours.

"You found my dagger? You have my thanks, friend. Not a practical weapon, I know. But it's still precious to me.
Please take this as a reward. It will just weigh me down. I must travel light if I'm to slay all these Daedra."

Notes

• By completing this quest, you would have earned the ability to accept a daily quest, The War of Infinite Fronts, from your Alliance Base's Hunting Board.
• There are two different versions of Kimeema's Dagger:
  • The first is the one you find on Taebod's corpse. The description reads: A dagger smithed in the Daedric style with the name "Kimeema" etched into the hilt.
  • The second is the quest item you receive if you kill Taebod after accepting the quest from Kimeema or using the other dagger in your inventory. The quest item's description reads: A finely crafted silver dagger with the name "Kimeema" etched into the hilt.
