Grimvar Cruel-Sea is a Nord child living in the House of Clan Cruel-Sea in Windhelm. He is the son of Hillevi and Torsten Cruel-Sea. His caregiver is Idesa Sadri, a Dunmer.
When you first enter Windhelm, you can find him near the Aretino Residence, trying to talk to Aventus Aretino, with Idesa actively trying to discourage him from doing so. After having this conversation, he will begin his normal schedule. He will spend most of his time at home, beginning his day there at 8am by getting out of bed. He will spend most of the day with Idesa. At 8am, right after waking up, he will have breakfast with her, then he will spend the next three hours by her side in the house. After that, he will stand around the house until 6pm, when it is time for dinner. On Mordas, Middas, and Fredas, the two will eat at home. However, on Tirdas and Turdas they will instead go out for a meal at Candlehearth Hall. On the weekend days of Loredas and Sundas, the two will forgo dinner, instead just hanging around the house. The weekend is also the only time Idesa will leave Grimvar's company. At midnight, on every day of the week, he will go to bed at 10pm.
Grimvar wears the standard child's clothes and shoes. He also carries a house key, an iron dagger, and an assortment of food and toys.

Dialogue[edit]
You may encounter him by the Aretino Residence asking Idesa if Aventus Aretino is trying to contact the Dark Brotherhood:
- Grimvar: "Then it's true, what everyone is saying? That Aventus Aretino is doing the Black Sacrament? Trying to summon the Dark Brotherhood?"
- Idesa: "Oh, Grimvar... always with the nonsense. No, no, of course not. Those are just tales..."
- Grimvar: "Fine. Then I'll invite him out to play. He lives right there. I'm going to knock on his door..."
- Idesa: "No, child! Wait! That boy, that house - they're cursed."
- Grimvar: "Ha! Then I'm right. I knew it. He's trying to have somebody killed!"
- Idesa: "All right. I won't deny it, child. What you heard is true. But Aventus Aretino walks a dark path. His actions can lead only to ruin."
- Idesa: "Now. Enough. We will speak no more of this. I am the only friend you need."
When speaking to Grimvar, he usually talks about his father:
- "Do you know my father? He's really important. He even talks to the Jarl sometimes." (If Torsten is alive)
- "Did you know my father? He was really important. He even talked to the Jarl sometimes." (If Torsten is dead)
- Who's your father?
- "His name is Torsten Cruel-Sea. He's really rich, 'cause he owns a farm called Hollyfrost. He told me once that he wanted me to grow up and be a sailor, 'cause that's where our family name comes from. But I don't want to be a sailor or a farmer. I want to be a warrior! The strongest one ever!" (If Torsten is alive)
- "His name was Torsten Cruel-Sea. He was really rich, 'cause he owned a whole farm called Hollyfrost. He told me once that he wanted me to grow up and be a sailor, 'cause that's where our family name comes from. But I don't want to be a sailor or a farmer. I want to be a warrior! The strongest one ever!" (If Torsten is dead)
He may also talk about this warrior dream of his in another greeting:
- "They say dragons are coming back. I want to kill one!"
Even though, unlike some citizens of Windhelm, he doesn't harbor a hatred of foreign races, Grimvar knows how things work, and may tell you that:
- "All the Argonians at the docks are nice to me. Good thing, too, or father would run them off!"
