Battlemage's Journal

At last, a breakthrough! This script isn't Ayleidoon or Aldmer, but Falmer! Now we finally know who built these ruins, though their purpose remains as perplexing as ever. The tablet reads:

ONLY THE FEET OF THE ASCENDED PILGRIMS, NOW ONE WITH AURI-EL, MAY TREAD THESE HALLS AT JOURNEY'S END, TO FIND RELIEF AT THE INITIATE'S REST IN THE GLADE BEYOND. THOUGH THE PATH AHEAD IS ROCKY, EACH STONE IS BUT A PEBBLE NEXT TO THE MOUNTAIN OF TRIALS MET AND OVERCOME ON THE ROAD TO ENLIGHTENMENT.

Translated, to the best of my abilities, it reads:

Only the feet of the Ascended Pilgrims, now one with Auri-El, may tread these halls at jouney's end, to find relief at the Initiate's Rest in the glade beyond. Though the path ahead is rocky, each stone is but a pebble next to the mountain of trials met and overcome on the road to enlightenment.

I have no idea what trials this tablet is referring to, nor what constitutes an Ascended Pilgrim. I should return to camp immediately and report my findings to Captain Vellius. Hopefully he can make sense of all this. If the tablet is to believed, there may be a way out of this wretched valley after all!
