Key for way back out[edit]

I was wondering if anyone had found the key that opens the door to the short way out of the dungeon... The Ansilvund key doesn't seem to be the correct one and I can't seem to find any others anywhere in the last section of the dungeon.— Unsigned comment by 98.228.16.226 (talk) at 10:28 on 7 December 2011 (UTC)

It's on skavens body though her corpse nearly always glitcjes through the floor for me. Use the console. click the door adn type unlock. Best wishes— Unsigned comment by 2.216.142.19 (talk) at 17:58 on 18 December 2011 (UTC)
This happened to me as well, but since I'm not using the PC I can't just 'use the console' as suggested. Any other ideas?— Unsigned comment by 74.42.175.196 (talk) at 04:00 on 14 January 2012 (UTC)
Try saving then reload the save. This should reload the body. It always works on unlootable bodies (making them lootable.) Philbert 21:14, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Luckily I saved right before the fight, then after awhile looking for the key read this, reloaded and redid the fight 10 times with her body glitching though the floor. Luckily moreso I had a poison of paralysis on me, paralyzed and then pick-pocketed the key off her. Thanks for the location of the correct key! ~Chadworthy 4/11/12 — Unsigned comment by 67.187.252.142 (talk) at 06:26 on 12 April 2012 (UTC)

Ansilvund secret chest outside on top of tower[edit]

There is a chest on top of the tower outside ansilvund. Has anyone figured out how to get up there?— Unsigned comment by 174.252.135.46 (talk) at 01:03 on 21 December 2011

With at least two words unlocked for Whirlwind Sprint, you can reach the chest. Stand on the small rocky outcropping almost directly above the excavation entrance and face west towards where the tower wall is the lowest.— Unsigned comment by 24.247.177.201 (talk) at 00:32 on 24 January 2012
Solution Two:
I had success getting up there with a horse. Horses seem to be the 4x4s of Skyrim. Just hop on and trot/jump on the area next to the entrance (left-facing entrance. staggered stones/rubble). The horse will be able to clear the lip of the tower after a jump or two.— Unsigned comment by 108.88.185.250 (talk) at 05:10 on 23 March 2012
Yes, the rubble at the west side of the tower can be climbed using a horse. Confirmed today on PC riding Frost. Stytch (talk) 02:15, 29 January 2014 (GMT)
Should add this to the official walkthrough or at least to the Notes. Just did this today as well on Switch. Climb the rubble on the outside of the southwest side "corner" of the tower. Had actually been really easy-peasy :D. Now if I could only bring a horse down to the Ratway...or if only pets could be ridden or could fly...:D.

Where is the gold ore vein?[edit]

If there is supposed to be a gold ore vein in Ansilvund, then where is it? The iron ore vein location is described, but not the gold.--Playerseekingbugs (talk) 23:08, 17 December 2012 (GMT)

It's in the second zone, eastmost at the bend of the passage there, in the wall. But I can't activate it, it seems to be bugged/misplaced somehow. --Alfwyn (talk) 23:56, 17 December 2012 (GMT)
I checked it out, and it's unmineable. I think it's best to remove it from the summary box, and add a note about it's status. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 16:43, 23 December 2012 (GMT)
I agree, now it is confirmed it isn't just happening for me. --Alfwyn (talk) 16:46, 23 December 2012 (GMT)
I mined that vein today on PC, my first time in Ansilvund. — Unsigned comment by 24.224.166.231 (talk) at 01:55 on 29 January 2014
It was fixed by the unofficial patches. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 02:09, 29 January 2014 (GMT)
Ah, good. Stytch (talk) 02:12, 29 January 2014 (GMT)

Missing Reference[edit]

This is a Nordic Ruin in The Rift, but it is not listed as a location on the "The Rift" page. It is only mentioned in the directions to "Tolvald's Cave". I haven't done any page editing, so I don't want to mess something up trying to add it myself, but I believe it belongs there.-- Jimbo talk 12:53, 30 July 2013 (GMT)

I think you'll see its in Eastmarch when you read the page. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 13:06, 30 July 2013 (GMT)

South eastern burial area[edit]

Is it right, that the small area to the south east, just after the reanimated Draugrs isn't accessible? -- CompleCCity (talk) 11:07, 24 March 2014 (GMT)

Ansilvund key[edit]

The Dart trap in the room with Ansilvund key is triggert by removing the key from the pedastal. However the rising of the Drauger as well as the voice from the off saying: "I shall have vengeance for the death of my husband. Rise!" is actualy triggert by aquiering the key. That means you can tell a Follower to get it for you and than trade item with said follower in a stratigicly better posision, the hight ground for example. In fact the key is not requierd to beat the dungeon. All doors it opens are master Level locks wich can be opend without the key. The key wich is needed to open the exit (Lu'ah's Key) is a differnt one found on the boss. --95.208.250.85 23:06, 3 February 2020 (GMT)

No Coin Purse in Lever-Pillars Puzzle Room[edit]

Towards the end of the second to last paragraph of Skyrim:Ansilvund#Ansilvund Excavation (the paragraph that starts, "Descending deeper underground..."), a "large coin purse" is mentioned to be behind a stone structure (it's the bottom half of the room with the lever-pillars puzzle and the conjurer-atronach-draugr patrol, right after the tripwire with the falling rocks). Unfortunately, I jumped and searched all around there and could not/had not found anything.

The atronach my conjurer had summoned had been a Flame one which had exploded upon dying (albeit on the upper level), so not sure if it was that the coin purse had been blown into the wall or something.
