Skyrim talk:Rebel's Cairn (quest)

Bug / duplicate?[edit]
Is it worth adding that you can do this quest repeatedly an infinite number of times? It's borderline exploiting since you can get some expensive gear at higher levels, so I won't add the details, but I stumbled upon it by chance. Roboe 20:40, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
Looting Red Eagle[edit]
I defeated Red Eagle by staying hidden and shooting him several times in the back with my bow. When I went to retrieve his Greatsword, he still had it in his hand and although it was not a lot, I was able to "loot" him for the sword and 5gp. --66.87.4.163 02:10, 30 November 2011 (UTC)DrasnianSilk
- I agree the statement about not being able to loot Red Eagle is misleading. In addition to his greatsword, I took 3 gp and a couple of the arrows I shot into him. One cannot, however, take his armor so I'm going to clarify the description to say that. Oblivoid 23:36, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

- i have three copies of this book (i'm playing the PS3 version) that i acquired all after completing the quest. now the quest has popped up again and i have no idea what to do because i've already killed this guy and been back to his dungeon twice. now when i go back theirs nothing for me to do. i actually have to of his swords which don't activate anything but the quest won't go away. anyone else having this problem? - It seems when the Briarheart that has the sword respawns, he also returns with the sword. So now when you read the book or kill him for the sword, the quest starts all over. It is bad because the game then lists the Fury as quest and you can't do anything to get rid of it. PC players can use console, of course. Kaisar Dragon 16:05, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

- I accidentally re-read The Legend of Red Eagle not long after first completing this quest, and it added the quest to my journal again. I decided to investigate going through the quest a second time to see how far I could get. When I returned to Red Eagle Redoubt, some of the Forsworn had respawned, but most were not hostile - until I spoke to them, at which point they would say "hello" (or something similar) and immediately attack. None of the containers had respawned, and I found a few of my arrows sticking in the ground from my previous visit. Interestingly, when I reached the Forsword Briarheart carrying the Red Eagle sword, he was still dead - but all the loot on him had respawned, including Read Eagle and a few other nice items. When I went back to Rebel's Cairn to kill Red Eagle, I could open his tomb as per the first time, but his skeletons were still dead. Red Eagle's corpse was nowhere to be seen, however, so I completed the quest by typing 'C14B3.resurrect' into the console to resurrect Red Eagle and kill him again. --Reka 12:49, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

- I was clearing out my misc quests and saw I had to get the sword. When I killed the briarheart he had 2 furies, one of which wasn't marked as quest while the other was. After heading to Rebel's Cairn and activating the slot, the quest was removed and both swords were able to be dropped. This was on Xbox360. — Unsigned comment by 24.159.40.196 (talk) at 21:50 on 5 March 2012

- For some reason, on my copy, he renders sort of wrong. He stays lying down, and sort of zooms around the room. I can't hit him. Even when he is sitting still, he takes no damage. What is wrong? — Unsigned comment by 98.65.252.16 (talk) at 00:29 on 25 March 2012

(←) After finishing the Red Eagle quest another radiant quest sent me to the master chest, the Red Eagles Fury was again looted fron the bandit chief, can this error be corrected? — Unsigned comment by 92.13.124.147 (talk) at 16:15 on 2 September 2013
- If you play on PC, you can get the USKP mod, but there are no reported fixes on Xbox or PS3 yet. — ABCface◥ 17:15, 2 September 2013 (GMT)
Item statistics[edit]
May I propose removing all the notes about the swords and their stats? They will differ depending on the player's level and I don't think it's really necessary to include them. The Invisible Chocobo 04:22, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
quest start bugged?[edit]
I started this quest by reading the document about what has to be done to raise Red Eagle instead of the book. When I obtained the sword, the quest didn't update, so it still says 'retrieve the sword'. The quest doesn't seem to have a marker anymore, but I'll head down to Rebel's Cairn to see whether I can still continue with this quest. 94.208.42.39 10:14, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
Red Eagle Ascent Note[edit]
When you go through the small-walled stairwell with all the mushrooms, turn around in the middle of it because there is an Adept-locked chest near the entrance hidden behind some root-things. --184.88.12.130 14:11, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
journal with details on what you have to do[edit]
You actually don't need to do any of the stuff in the journal or even read it.
You just activate the sword slot, placing the sword in the slot. That is all you do.
The journal implies you need to use the sword in combat to shed blood (or something like that) but you don't.
I request this paragraph to be rewritten to make it clear none of it is a requirement. Thx CapnZapp (talk) 19:12, 19 November 2012 (GMT)
bug report - quest not starting[edit]
the quest did not begin for me because i've had a treasure hunters quest note leading me to the boss chest of the brier heart holding the sword. after completing that quest and picking the treasure (after i looted the brier heart) reading the book started the quest and reset his inventory. - patch 1.9 — Unsigned comment by 217.132.231.153 (talk) at 06:39 on 6 May 2013
- when typing (setstage dunrebelscairnqst 30) on console, it will remove it the quest from your log; good especially after it appears there again as a bug — Unsigned comment by 94.112.36.70 (talk) at 01:06 on 20 January 2014
Shortcut to the Forsworn Camp and the Briarheart[edit]
It is possible to jump the rocks near the exit of the camp (the barred doors on the east side of the Sundered Towers; centered in this map link: [1] ) and reach the Forsworn Briarheart leader without going through the Red Eagle Redoubt, thus making the time needed to finish the quest much shorter and maybe allowing the player to clear the location without the quest? Not sure about the last part because I already had the quest started. I'm willing to provide a video on how and where to jump. --E.T. (talk) 13:35, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
- I'm sure someone will appreciate a way to jump the long sections, but you can't clear Sundered Towers without the quest as the quest spawns the boss creatures that you need to kill for the status to update. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 17:49, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
