When you read this note, I'll be in a safe place, far from Andothren. I don't think we'll ever see each other again, and I'm sorry about that. I'm sorry, too, for hiding the truth from you. The trust you put in me was so great and so dear that I didn't think I could burden it with something so dark as the truth. I thank you for your kindness and hospitality, and wish you all the very best.

All the gold I didn't give to you, while you kindly put a roof over my head, I stashed away in a secret place. I want you to have it.

Look for a tree between the Imperial Commission building and Vasni Manor. Take a shovel -- I know you've got one in the tower -- and dig under that tree. The chest isn't buried deep. It's all yours now. I hope you'll spend it wisely, even though I fear you won't. Spend a little on food, at least. I know I don't need to ask you to share it with %PCName. You've never been anything but generous.
