Bahrund

Bahrund is the fallen castle of Indoril Aladus Daynil.

Bahrund lies west of Veranzaris, a Daedric Shrine within walking distance of Andothren. The door to the complex is concealed under the platform that bears the sarcophagus. The chamber inside is the den of a low level vampire of the Quarra Clan, Ifneg, along with the corpses that have made up his recent meals.

Warning: If you proceed further then you will not be able to escape this place by walking - bring a means of escaping via either levitation or teleportation.

Ifneg's room is not all it seems however - an illusion covers the floor in the eastern corner. Walking on this floor will cause you to fall through the hole. Corpses of Velothi knights and Reman Empire-era legionaries litter the ground. On crawling through a dark hole you will reach what appears to be a throne room. The skeleton on the throne holds a powerful staff named Keeper of the Velothi (Fire Damage 1 to 50 pts for 10 secs in 20 ft on Touch, Cast on Use). Beware however, as taking the staff will cause the many undead, both Velothi and Reman, to rise and re-enact their ancient battle. Each side appears to consider you an enemy combatant.

Two doors in each side of the throne room area lead to separate wings of the complex. In the eastern wing, a Tattered Note gives further details on Bahrund's destruction, as recounted by Indoril Daynil. Close by lies the illegible but valuable (5000 gold) book As Shokhahn Am Jabikaam.
