Geloise Marard

Geloise Marard is a Breton Commoner and a resident of Teyn. Serially single, she has received considerable pressure from her mother Parnilla Marard to marry. As a way to keep Parnilla off her back, Geloise has invented a wealthy fiance named Ernald.

The plan backfires when Parnilla comes to visit, and a desperate Geloise will request that you play the part of her fictional fiance in order to maintain the pretence, beginning the events of Meet the Mother-In-Law. Depending on whether the ruse succeeds or not, Parnilla will either come to a better understanding with her mother, or else continue her deception while she seeks true (and wealthy) love:

"You've bought me precious time. I will write her a new letter telling her that I've left Ernald for someone even richer. I'm positive that by the time she receives it I've found someone who's real."
