Ilvaalmu is a Dark Elf vampire of great age, bound within a secret cell of Arvel Ancestral Tomb. She appears to be a former slave, kept trapped within the tomb for an unknown length of time. Docile on your initial meeting, she will request your assistance in finding her freedom as part of the quest Ilvaalmu Unbound, and will show great gratitude if you oblige:

"You have shown this one compassion which none have for a millenia. The masters' hallow crypts are yours to plunder. Here, kind master. Take this chain from this one's neck as a sign of this one's gratitude."

However, she will later appear in the town of Teyn, ready to wreak a bloodbath upon the populace. Any gratitude to you appears to have been forgotten in her frenzy, and she will attack.
