Tamriel Rebuilt talk:Demaric Derroltane

The UESPWiki – Your source for The Elder Scrolls since 1995

" If challenged, he will offer to sell it, but will never be genuine about that offer - you must ultimately kill him to retrieve the item, whether you paid him or not."

> This is no longer true (at least as of "Grasping Fortune") - with a disposition of 75, he will offer to sell the ring to you for 2000 septims. If one keeps choosing the right dialogue prompts, he will ultimately say he is a man of his word and will give you the ring. You can then leave unharmed with the ring of respite.

(However, if you then initiate conversation with him again, he will say he has changed his mind and attack you.)

Dialogue tree - Killing Demaric is not required, also see quest "The Ring of Respite"[edit]

Dialogue[edit]

  • Ring of Respite[≥ Disposition 75]:
"I found it. I've grown quite attached to it. It suits me, don't you think? But if you want it, I'll sell it to you for a reasonable price. Shall we say... 2000 drakes?"
  • Deal.
"You're serious? Well, I suppose I can part with it. It's just a ring. Just a tiny little ring. Very well, give me the money first, and then I will give you the ring."
  • Very well.
"Oh! You are serious." [2000 Gold has been removed from your inventory.]
  • And the ring?
"Ah, yes. The Ring. Of course. I haven't given it to you already, have I?"
  • No.
"No. you're right, of course. I'm still wearing it! Well then, a deal is a deal. And on my honor, I shall keep to it." [Ring of Respite has been added to your inventory.]
