Template:CleanImage
The UESPWiki – Your source for The Elder Scrolls since 1995
To meet our site's higher standard of quality, this file may need to be replaced. To leave a message about the cleanup for this article, please add it to this article's talk page |
Due to the sensitive nature of this template or the fact that it is used on a large number of pages, it has been semi-protected to prevent site-wide damage by vandal bots. Editors: In order to minimize the impact on our servers, please use sandboxes to make and test changes to widely used templates before deployment. For more information, please see this article's talk page. |
This template should be used to mark images which are in need of cleanup. In addition to placing a notice on the page and adding it to the All Pages Needing Cleanup category, this can also place the image into other categories specific to the problems in the image, so that other users can easily tell what needs fixing. These categories are all sub-categories of Files Needing Cleanup. You may use as many of these parameters as needed. Caveats:
- Do not use this template on non-image pages. Those should use Cleanup instead.
- Do not use this for deletion requests. Those should use the Speed or Prod templates as appropriate.
- Do not use this for rename requests unless there are other issues that also need to be fixed. If the name is the only problem, use Rename instead.
- Do not use this template to indicate problems with licensing - if the license is wrong, just fix it. 99.9 times out of 100, the license should probably be Uespimage anyhow.
Parameter | Description | Category | |
---|---|---|---|
ui | Used to indicate that an image has UI elements that should be removed. If the UI is fairly obvious, just set it to 'y' and no extra information will be added. If it's subtle, give a brief description so that people know what to look for. | Images with UI elements | |
Usage | E.g.: "{{CleanImage|ui=y}}" |
||
Result | • Image contains UI elements | ||
Usage | E.g.: "{{CleanImage|ui=crosshair}}" |
||
Result | • Image contains UI elements (crosshair) | ||
color | Used to indicate that an image needs color adjustment. You can specify just what adjustment is needed by filling in this parameter. | Images needing color adjustment | |
Usage | E.g.: "{{CleanImage|color=too dark}}" |
||
Result | • Image color is too dark | ||
ar | Used to indicate that an image is in the wrong aspect ratio for its type. Give the correct aspect ratio as the parameter, generally 1:1 for NPCs and 4:3, 16:9, or 16:10 for places (a full list of image standards can be found here). | Images with incorrect aspect ratio | |
Usage | E.g.: "{{CleanImage|ar=4:3, 16:9, or 16:10}}" |
||
Result | • Aspect ratio should be 4:3, 16:9, or 16:10 | ||
res | Used to indicate that an image is too small (or too large - not as likely). The parameter should state which is the case. | Images with improper resolution | |
Usage | E.g.: "{{CleanImage|res=too small}}" |
||
Result | • Resolution is too small | ||
format | Used to indicate that an image is in the wrong format. The parameter should indicate the correct format (usually .jpg, but .png is acceptable in some cases, mainly for smaller images needing alpha.) | Images with improper file format | |
Usage | E.g.: "{{CleanImage|format=jpg}}" |
||
Result | • File format should be jpg | ||
rename | Used to indicate files which should be renamed to more clearly describe their contents or to adhere to site naming conventions. This just auto-transcludes the Rename template, so if this is the only problem with the image, you should just use Rename instead. | Files Needing Renaming | |
Usage | E.g.: "{{CleanImage|rename=SR-place-Whiterun.jpg}}" |
||
other | This is a catch-all for any other issues that might be present in an image. | Images with other issues | |
Usage | E.g.: "{{CleanImage|other=There's a tree growing out of his head!}}" |
||
Result | • There's a tree growing out of his head! |
