These are the comments for the question:

   6. How have you found any interactions with the UESP's editors or adminstrators?

Some comments may have been removed or edited from containing personal information or questionable content.

  • ...although, from reading some of the comments and forums, there does seem to be a bit of un-necessay attitude in responding to certain queries, a lot of people don't have the time or experience in games or using search engines such as this, like others, and it seems a little condescending how responses have been worded at times, I don't know if that's administrators or other users, but there seems to be a lack of etiquette at times, but some gamers / nerds just have bad attitudes in general. >; )
  • A certain individual gave a negative impression (rude, unappreciative). Other all ok.
  • A few overzealous editors seen on talk pages have put me off making an account so far, but overall very positive.
  • A lot of times they'll instantly ghost edit your post, often completely removing the point of the edit itself, i.e. describing the difficulty of a particular action, or explaining the best choice for a quest item
  • ABCFace, JR, Eshe have been wonderful

  • I added a few comments on various pages, corrected information on others, and rewrote a few also. A few of the edits were reverted by someone who didn't think the information was relevant; obviously I'd disagree, but I'd prefer people discuss reverts that remove information rather than immediately reverting because of their personal opinion.

  • I haven't really had much (near no) interaction with the Editors etc/ but when I had one encounter he explained why my content was removed. (Game covers were preferred, I uploaded a picture wth no console icon.)
  • I haven't really interacted with any of the UESP staff per se, but I used to read the forum (but not post) for nearly two years. I mainly stopped visiting because the community was very young (mostly 13-15 year olds) and the level of discussion was fairly immature. I realize that the UESP isn't a venue for tyrannical monitoring of discussion, but I'd like to see the mods steer things toward a more informed level of discussion. Otherwise, the community is definitly passionate and is enjoyable to partake in.

  • I honestly have never had any interactions so I will say it was "Good."
  • I just browse here when I need help, so thank you for making this available.
  • I just read the content pages, honestly.
  • I keep to myself on the site.
  • I know you guys update the site all the time, and I've never talked to any of the staff, but you guys seem nice enough.
  • I like how the Mods post on the forums like normal people and are friendly. Most other forums have mods who are only there to moderate.
  • i like how your all polite(no no-it-alls)
  • I mainly just read the text but its all relevant and helpful
  • I may have exchanged some information with one or more a while back; nothing significant albeit.
  • I mostly go on here to read, but when I have interacted with the administratos and other website officials they were very polite and helpful and were always ready and willing to help.
  • I never actually interacted with any UESP editors or adminstrators.
  • I never contacted anyone. Can't send an opinion.

  • I occasionally correct peoples grammar then never look at the page agian
  • I only go on this site for game information, I'm no editor and I don't communicate with the admin.
  • I only helped create few pages, but never had any arguments with any users or admins.
  • I only leech information, so I haven't interacted with any admins/editors because I don't edit information.
  • I read content rather then write it, so I have had no contact with the community.
  • I remember sending in a complaint about some spelling errors to have it responded in less than 4 hours. I was truly speechless.
  • I suppose my only interraction with one was when I did something wrong and needed to be set straight...
  • I use the wiki for reference...not much social interaction
  • I wasn't aware it was an option
  • I wasn't looking for that content to be honest.
  • I wish I could speak with you fine men
  • I'm a casual browser, not an editor. If your staff is half as friendly as they are good at handling the UESP, they sound excellent.
  • I'm a reader only
  • I'm just a regular ol' user.
  • I'm just a user. Nothing I can add that hasn't already been covered.
  • I'm not a member so I pass this one.
  • I'm not a registered user, so I haven't had much community interaction.
  • I'm not an active contributor, though.
  • I'm not on the forums so this hasn't happened.
  • I'm not sure
  • I'm not too huge in the site's community, usually coeme here to brush up on lore or find things in Skyrim
  • I've been a lurker so I've never actually interacted with any editors or administrators.
  • I've been a very large contributor who stopped editing a 2 years ago and loved the editing community.
  • I've been fortunate enough to have been helped out by a couple of contributors for those instances where I don't know some things either about the wiki or the game(s)
  • I've had editors remove information that I've edited which was 100% accurate because they didn't agree, or had not personally confirmed the info. All in all, this is a rare occasion and most interactions I've had have been pleasant.
  • I've had no interactions, therefore Average.
  • I've had pretty good exchanges so far, and I've also had my fair share of elaborating upon certain decisions in editing articles and so forth. I was met well about it and although some confusion occurred the result was for the better.
  • I've had questions answered in less than 10 minutes-fact
  • I've haven't had any direct interaction, but I've lurked around long enough to know there are some good ones, some average ones, and some... baffling ones.
  • I've never been an editor, but I sometimes check discussion pages on wikis and other parts. On most wikis including UESP, I tend to notice a kind of "bluntness" in administrators and how problems are replied to. It's also sometimes visible in other editors as well. Nephele (if I remember her name right) always seemed nice but most other administrators I've seen can sometimes act a little bit rude or unsympathetic. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not. I feel that wikis in general usually have a slightly "elitist" mindset from people more familiar with standard editing rules and guidelines. That is not to say new members shouldn't be expected to follow it all, but that it is a ton of info to take in, and a friendlier community would help productiveness and attracting new editors with less fear of making a slight mistake. (Hopefully this made sense -- English isn't my native language.)
  • I've never come in contact with the sites administration
  • I've never contacted any, so no comment here.
  • I've never edited a page, and thus am unable to comment on any interactions I would have had with editors or administration. Though I'd suspect they'd be kind and courtious.
  • I've never had a problem with any authorities on the site.
  • I've never had any
  • I've never had any interaction with any of those specific people.
  • I've never had any interactions with editors/admins, so I can't comment.
  • I've never had any interactions.
  • I've never had any issues so I don't have any interaction experience with the people running the site
  • I've never had any real interaction with UESP editors or administrators.
  • I've never had any such interactions.
  • I've never had any, there's no problems to tell them about!
  • I've never had cause to contact the site's editors or admin.
  • I've never had to interact with any of the administrators or editors.
  • I've never had to interact with the staff or contributors.
  • I've never had to opportunity to interact with the editors or administrators.
  • I've never interacted so I can't comment.
  • I've never interacted with any of them.
  • I've never interacted with any UESP's editors or administrators, nor tried to.
  • I've never interacted with anybody
  • I've never interacted with them, but I'm sure they're great like the rest of the website!
  • I've never interacted with them, so I can't really say, myself.
  • I've never interacted with them.
  • I've never need to contact an Editor or an Administrator before, the wiki seems very well kept, and I haven't experienced many issues with it.
  • I've never needed to contact an editor or administrator, which says a lot about the quality of the wiki on it's own!
  • I've never really interacted with any editors or admins.
  • I've never spoken to any of you guys, but, You run a tight ship, and its nice.
  • I've never talked to any before, but if the quality of the site means anything, I'm sure they're great.
  • I've never talked with any of the UESP's editors or admistrators.
  • I've not contacted any
  • I've not contacted anyone of editors...
  • i've not very social, so this is based on very little information
  • I've often thought about getting involved in the community but meh (perhaps some more community-oriented content would motivate people like myself (if there are people like myself other than me))
  • I've only come for the information here.
  • i've personally not had very much interaction with editors and administrators.
  • I've posted a bit on the talks page for the dragon language section with few responses but aside from that nobody has interacted with me.
  • I've witnessed solid, constructive conversations to improve the credibility, of UESP.
  • I've yet to do any contributing etc. to the site, and therefore I've had very limited interactions with the editors and admins.
  • If i have ever edited it would have only been a minor typo or something of the sort.
  • im just a regular guy that searches for information on the wiki (not an editor)
  • In this situation I cannot really rate, seeing that I haven't had much contact with them.
  • It's pretty much impossible to go looking throughout some pages without seeing how various clashing personalities have made it substantially more difficult to find the information I need. While many of these people's intentions are no doubt in the right place, they're also often unnecessary and divisive. Any time I look at proposed changes lists or the like it seems someone's arguing with someone else, and more and more of the information I desire for specific games, quests in those games, ect disappears until it's altered to meet upon a new, hard to agree upon format.
  • Ive never had any direct interactions
  • Ive never talked or intercted with one, but Im sure there great, because the rest of the site is!
  • ive never talked to an admin or a editor
  • Just fine.
  • Just reading things so no interactions.
  • Just started using the site a month ago.
  • kids should not be admins
  • look soetimes
  • Main problem is that etiquette policies are often not enforced
  • Merely a reader, and minor edits every now and never when something blatantly wrong or missing is needed.
  • More than adequate.
  • Most are friendly and well researched. There are also many who charge in with little knowledge and stubborn attitudes but there isn't much you can do about that haha
  • most editors and admins answer questions fast, and are incredibly courtious
  • Most folks are nice enough though I don't care for the mods currently in place. They are not in check and members have no power if they are mistreated. That being said, no big deal, they aren't bad people just annoying as hell.
  • Most of the administrators have been strict, but fair with me. The only negative interaction I had with one was with one of the administrators.
  • Mostly good, although occasionally I'll make a corrective edit only to have someone undo it moments later- after which another mod will *finally* implement the correction I originally made.
  • My experiences with others have been positive.
  • My previous computer's IP address was used by hackers as well as a few other people, who tried to damage the site, my IP address was blocked, which I strongly dislike.

  • Never met them!
  • never needed
  • Never needed to
  • Never needed to contract them because they do such a good job keeping the site running :-)
  • Never really bothered contacting them; never really felt the need to.
  • Never really had any
  • Never really had any interactions
  • never really interacted with anyone
  • Never really looked into that, as I have never contributed to the wiki.
  • Never really ventured onto the forums and whatnot. The website helped me enough.
  • Never saw an issue to need to contact
  • Never seen one of them
  • Never spoke to any of them.
  • Never spoke to editors/administrators.
  • never talked or found any of theme
  • Never talked to any but considering how to good the site is I'd say they're doing a pretty top job.
  • Never talked to any.
  • Never talked to anyone from the UESP team.
  • never talked to with any yet.

  • No clue
  • No complaints
  • No contact whatsoever
  • No experience on this subject.
  • No experience with interactions
  • No experience yet.
  • no idea what that should or should not be like
  • no interaction
  • No interaction on UESP, but when I have seen them on other websites they seem like nice people.
  • No interaction. They seem to do a good job at keeping articles clean and informative.
  • no interactions
  • No interactions
  • No interactions
  • No interactions in memory.
  • No interactions.
  • No interactions.
  • no need of ever contacting them
  • No need to have any questions to admins. No issues to date.
  • no need to, everything I need is there
  • No outstanding complaints or praises.
  • No personal interaction here, though I'm impressed by the obvious attention that is payed to the quality of the site and it's contents.
  • No personal interactions but seen their answers on talk pages
  • No run ins yet, but they seem to keep the status quo
  • None
  • None experienced
  • None so far; just a reader
  • None.
  • nope. not one bit
  • Not an editor so never interacted but GOOD LORD some of your "staff" (admins - I know they aren't staff per se but outsiders will assume they are) can be odd! I was unsurprised to see UESPwatch is a thing since the drama you chaps create is phenomenal given your relatively small size
  • Not applicable YET... (Because I love you guys so much I'll just have to contact you eventually...)
  • Not as of yet, but maybe someday... I can only hope.
  • Not done any yet
  • Not enough interaction to rate it great. But everything I've seen is good :)
  • Not entirely sure if I understand the question, but if I do understand it, I've never interracted with the admins or editors.
  • Not had any interaction to date.
  • Not had any yet
  • Not had much contact with either
  • not interacted
  • Not interacted with anyone.
  • Not much to say about this.
  • Not often interacting with others on site though.
  • Not really an active member, I simply don't have anything to add.
  • Not really sure?
  • not use them yet
  • Not yet... but I do like the news feed on the home page. I'm sure they're responsible for that.
  • Nothing to complain.
  • Of course, not every single admin is exactly agreeable, but most are fine to deal with.
  • On the most part they are pretty nice.
  • One of my accounts was banned because one of the admin magically traced an edit back to said account when the only thing I have ever done with that account for nine years was ask questions in the discussion tab.
  • Only been on a few talk pages, and these editors know their stuff pretty well.
  • Only interaction i've really had has been on the talk page for Maiq the liar, where I got very upset cause they didn't agree with me about khajiit accents. Not vital info though
  • Only notable interactions were with now-former admin banned for several unprovoked personal attacks, etc.
  • Other than elliot, lets not count him
  • Overall they are pretty good. I have found that some more serious Elder Scrolls players have a tendency to be abrasive toward less knowledgable people and information that is not 100% accurate. That is very minimal on this site. Overall I think the patrollers here are fair.
  • Overall very good, for the most part people are willing to work with each other.
  • People are generally polite.
  • People are very helpful here, however, somehow impatient sometimes :)
  • Personally, I haven't made interactions with them. I haven't edited a whole lot on the UESP wiki, because the editors and administrators before me have already done so.
  • Professional yet friendly. ;) And fast to answer questions!
  • Questions get answered correctly.
  • Really nice guys, friendly and the main thing; love ES.
  • Rpeh was really the only problem, and it seems he's stayed away since his block. I hope that in future, Admins will jump on that sort of behaviour sooner rather than later.
  • Sadly I have not been able to interact with an admin or editor but if I would have,I am sure that any and all my questions would be answered
  • Same answer as the first question I believe :)
  • Seems quite a mature community, for the most part.
  • should be more accessible
  • So far, I did not have any interaction with them.
  • Some admins have a bit of a superiority complex, but for the most part they're great and happy to help.
  • Some are good, some are not so good
  • Some are great... tea party mods not so much
  • Some of the administrators are rude and unfortunately that is the only experience I've had with them.
  • Some of the Editors are quite snobby. No offence intended.
  • Sometimes I have to search a bit to find something, but that's normal I think with the 18.669 articles on here. I can understand the necessity of the ads. The UESP need an income. Whenever I ask something on the forums, I can rely on admins helping me out. I really like them.
  • Sometimes users get a little to hung up over trivia sections
  • Sorry, but I can't really comment. I've never spoken with any of them.
  • Stop deleting my stuff when others put similar stuff >:\
  • thanks again
  • The admins are really cool.
  • The are all very, very, helpful
  • The discussion pages are always extremely helpful to look at when the subject is some type of game mechanic.
  • the editors and administrators are the flesh and blood of the imformation on the UESP's website, without them we wouldnt really know anything.
  • The editors/administrators have done a very good job working together and putting together an excellent wiki where all our Elder Scrolls questions can be answered and where we can find advice on how to create characters or finish quests.
  • The information seems up to date, and everything is genuine.
  • The little experience has been good.
  • The mentors were a huge help with creating my page
  • The one time I had an interaction was due to a misunderstanding, but everyone was polite about it.
  • The only objection I have is that my IP once got blocked without any reason.
  • the seems well maintained with no prank edits that i've come across
  • the talk pages I see are polite and well reasoned discussions. very friendly place.
  • There has never been a need to contact any editors or aministrators for me.
  • They are respectful and very willing to help you.
  • They are responsible, helpful and reliable
  • They are very friendly with the users and people who use the Wiki; and their welcoming attitudes add great reputation and appeal to UESP.
  • They are very helpful
  • They are very respectful, generous, and spend much time adding information to the site.
  • They do a great job, at what they do.
  • They genuinely seem to value input. Also, I'm not very good at wording things, but they make it better without just deleting it.
  • they give you every single little detail about the dungeons and point you in the right direction.
  • They prove to be helpful
  • They seem great, from afar.
  • They seem to genuinely care about their users and want to help, which they often do, but they only make important updates about once a month and don't keep people truly informed
  • They're all wonderful.
  • They're helpful.
  • they're okay, I have the sense they are not looking at older games any more
  • They're very knowledgeable on Elder Scrolls and are very cooperative.
  • This goes specifically for the the Wiki admins, more specifically Nephele. My experiences with certain officials (though not all, by any means) on the forums was far less satisfactory.
  • This is a grammatical 'train-wreck' of a question, but the admins have been very good at keeping page content supervised and consistent.
  • UESP's administration seems to have a level head on their shoulders, and from what I've seen, approaches normal wiki problems and maintenance very effectively. It's one of the best wikis.
  • Unfortunately I am a lowly lurker as far as comment sections and forums are concerned but I've yet to observe any interaction that I would deem negative.
  • Unfortunately no
  • Unfortunately, I have not had the pleasure.
  • Unsure
  • User's, Editors and Administrators are all very helpful and friendly and everyone in the community have each others interests and the site's interest in common
  • Very friendly and insightful.
  • Very friendly!
  • Very good indeed, though I believe for their own benefit there could have been more of them recruited for the Wiki ahead of 11-11-11 and the release of Skyrim to contain the expected extended activity.
  • Very helpful when i first joined, and if I have a question, they are always helpful, answering my questions concisely and clearly.
  • very nice people
  • Very professional on the most part. Very knowledgeable about the TES universe also.
  • Very willing to help and guide me as I got used to editing and using a wiki.
  • Well, I dont interact with em. All I need I can easily find here by myself.
  • what?
  • Wiki editors are not easy to reach for us Forum admins. AKB and Kiz (departed?), however, were fabulous.
  • yet to contribute to pages or forums (always beaten to it :) )
  • you always correct mistakes and never stop to make pages as accurate as possible and i think its good that editors as yourselves work DAILY to keep the site clean and update as possible thats very impressing
  • You can't pick editors and most are good or I haven't met them, but like everywhere else, the crazies shout loudest
  • You know what i haven't talked to any lately but i'm sure they would be just as helpful as the website.
