  • When you successfully frame Brand-Shei Other NPCs may attack him resulting in his death. This prevents any future interaction with him. ?
  • Brand-Shei becomes imprisoned in Riften Jail forever, instead of just for a week.
    • On PC Fixed by entering the following in the console: set TG00BrandSheiJail to 0. The next time Brand-Shei's schedule is updated, he will leave jail and resume his original schedule. • Brynjolf won't finish creating his distraction in the Market. The effect is that everyone will remain in the center of the market plaza, being told the "news" repeatedly and Brynjolf will not move, therefore not going to the Ragged Flagon to meet you for the next quest.
    • May be caused by:
      1. Completing the quest but not moving forward to the next Thieves Guild quest immediately
      2. Planting the ring at night
      3. Speaking with Brynjolf before his distraction is finished.
    • May be solved by:
      1. Console command clearquestaliases TG00SP.
      2. Stand by the right corner and use the shout Slow Time. This can cause Brynjolf to walk to the Ragged Flagon.
      3. Trick/Force Brynjolf:
        1. Push Brynjolf to the door to The Ratway (by either sprinting at him or using the Unrelenting Force shout, then yielding to or healing him).
        2. Tell any followers you have to wait in Riften, save, then activate the door and quickly talk to Brynjolf. If this does not work, reload and retry.
        3. Once you're in The Ratway with Brynjolf, attack him and run to The Ragged Flagon. Once inside, have him chase you all the way up to the bar, then yield.
        4. Talk to Brynjolf quickly, before he can leave to go back to his stall, and he will give you the next part of the quest. ?
  • Leaving Riften during A Chance Arrangement could prevent the quest from progressing
