Welcome![edit]
Hello Cjesseg! Welcome to UESPWiki! It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:
- Policies and Guidelines: UESPWiki standards and expectations
- Help Contents: a list of in-depth Help pages
- Quick Editing Guide: a quick guide to wiki markup
- Getting Started: how you can help
If you would like to spice up your userpage, click here for a list of userboxes you can use, including a guide to making your own.
When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).
Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! Jeancey (talk) 21:19, 8 March 2014 (GMT)
Sandbox[edit]
To answer your question in the sandbox, as Jeancey said in his edit summary, yes, people use it. It's not terribly annoying to clean up, since it typically only sees a couple of edits a month and there are probably a dozen different people who will clean it up. It's there to use for experiments if you need to, or just to practice, but don't make edits to it "just cuz", because that will get annoying. :) If you want to see who's been editing a page and how often, you can click on the "History" tab at the top of the page. – Robin Hood (talk) 20:07, 12 March 2014 (GMT)
- Ahaha! I see! Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't except to get a response. But just so you know, I did use "Show preview". :)

Advice[edit]
Hello and welcome to UESPWiki! Thanks for your interest in the wiki; however, you seem to have been making multiple edits to a page by not using the show preview button, clogging up the Recent Changes in the process. We appreciate your enthusiasm, but keep in mind that each edit needs to be patrolled, so multiple consecutive edits create an unnecessary hassle on those who patrol. So please utilize this feature! You may also want to look over our style guide and Getting Started guide. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. Lorenut (talk) 07:46, 20 June 2014 (GMT)
- Also, I can see you're experimenting, and you're probably wondering where you've gone wrong with the table. The biggest issues is that certain formatting has to be at the beginning of a line for a table. I've made the corrections so you can see how it's done. I'll let you figure out where to go from there. – Robin Hood (talk) 15:28, 20 June 2014 (GMT)

- Dang! You guys jumped on that! I apologize for messing things up. I do usually use "Show preview" and thank you for helping me out with the table. I saw a few peoples pages and they looked good and organized. I wanted to try to to do that, but its no big deal. Once again man, I'm sorry for causing difficulties. - (edit conflict) It's not surprising that we "jumped on" it. :) For patrollers and administrators, it's our job to monitor new edits, but we also have a high number of wiki addicts here who watch the Recent Changes list as well, so most edits probably get looked at by a dozen people or more within the first few hours after they're made. – Robin Hood (talk) 18:11, 20 June 2014 (GMT)

(←) As Lorenut says, don't worry about it too much. It's an inconvenience for patrollers and admins when there are a lot of back-to-back edits, but it's not going to kill us unless everyone starts doing it. :) – Robin Hood (talk) 18:44, 20 June 2014 (GMT)
Posting on Talk Pages[edit]
Hey, Cjesseg! I noticed that you asked a question at Oblivion talk:Trainers about the effects of fortifying skills on training. I just wanted to let you know that talk pages for articles are meant for formal discussions about the contents of the article (such as organization, possible bugs/fixes, discussion of certain changes, etc.). If you have a question about the mechanics of the game itself, it's usually better to ask on the forums. In this particular instance, the answer to your question was listed in the notes section of the article, so you could have found an answer without posting. It's not a big deal, but maybe in the future you could make sure your question isn't addressed in the article before posting on the talk page? Thanks!
