Welcome![edit]

Hi! Sorry for the late welcome, Emporer Ray IV! Welcome to UESPWiki. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you, on the other hand, would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at this link:

  • Userboxes: near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to make your own

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox and don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors (including myself) if you need any help. Have fun! --Arch-Mage MattTalk 03:43, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

As a side note, thanks for all of your edits, but could you please try to not use 'I' or 'Me' in an article? Thanks!--Arch-Mage MattTalk 03:43, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

Roleplaying Ideas[edit]

You do realize that the you are copying the current roleplaying guidelines, right? And that they're already in Oblivion space? --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 21:09, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Yes but were they npt going to be deleted, I still want to keep them. --Emperor Ray IV 21:12, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Will you please use show preview?[edit]

Take a look at Special:RecentChanges. I have to go through and patrol all of the edits you just made. Since you had a lot of subsections you wanted to edit why didn't you use the main edit tab at the top of the page and get it all done at once rather than making a ton of edits in a row?--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 21:42, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Oh ya sorry, I forgot. Thank you :) --Emperor Ray IV 21:45, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 21:47, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Edits[edit]

You said you made the Orcish Warlord and Champion of Cyrodiil roleplays? ...Under an anonymous account, the same account that made this edit? --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 02:30, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

No I made those under my account (orcish warlord and Champion of cyrodiil) I don't know about the other but it could be my stupid little cousin who things it's cool to ruin pages on Wikipedia with my account, is here and could have done that when I was elsewhere because she knows I love this site, I don't think it was her because I have told her how immature it is it but who knows. Sometimes she uses an anonymous account but I KNOW I made the roleplays, dose it say otherwise? Let me know :)--Emperor Ray IV 02:38, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
You may have, but under an anonymous account, shown here and here. The same account made the earlier shown edit. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 19:56, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
I'm sure your not insinuating that I am the only one in my house that uses the same computer or that knows how to edit a wiki. I don't know who made the other edit but I can tell you I didn't make it. I cannot attest to the inocence of everyone else. A family using a common computer is not uncommon. Now I write to you on my computer but I could on my P.C. as well. Do you know how many people use my p.c. It could have been any number of them. If you are accusing me, Firstly I have done nothing to harbor that, secondly the only evidence you have is that the edit was made on a computer that I use, and thirdly I have not and will not vandalize this or any other webstie like some uneducated Neanderthal by writing something about fish! I'm sure you do not accuse me though do you?--Emperor Ray IV 21:01, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
Most IP addresses change on a regular basis. That long after the roleplay edits, the vandalism edit was very likely made by someone other than Emperor Ray IV. Robin Hoodtalk 21:41, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Thank you Robin Hood. As I said, I use two computers and any of my friends or other family members friends could have done it and just because it was the same IP address doesn't make it me. Look at my edit history. I never have put bad info in and if so it was in good faith. As a note i'm sure Arch-Mage Matt didn't mean offence. :) --Emperor Ray IV 21:49, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

I did not mean you offense, but you can understand what it could look like. I wouldn't have pressed fathur but you said your cousin may have done it and I wanted to show you it was the same account. I've also never seen an IP adress change like that. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 22:23, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
There are two general types of IP addreses: static and dynamic. Sites like UESP use static addresses, meaning the numbers never change. Most home users have dynamic addresses, meaning that every couple of days (depending on the configuration), the numbers will change within a certain range allocated to that ISP. For example, last December, I made an edit from 173.206.136.33 (major oops, all things considered), which you can see resolves to Primus, my ISP. Given how flaky our connection is, I've probably been through 100 or more changes since then. My current address starts with a 67, which isn't even remotely similar to the old one. So any edits from an IP address that are more than a couple of days apart could easily be from different users, though over time, it's likely that the same connection will randomly get allocated the same set of numbers more than once. You need to couple IP details with other information (e.g., similar types of edits) before drawing any conclusions. Robin Hoodtalk 23:58, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Ok guys. Big misunderstanding, case closed, no hard feelings :)

(outdent) It really doesn't matter what IPs Emperor Ray IV has used. S?he has made a number of edits with which I disagree, but none that could possibly be counted as being anything other than good faith. rpeh •TCE 00:20, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry for the confusion, I didn't think it was possible for IPs to change like that. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 00:28, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

It's ok and hay, maybe it was my cousin and I need to speak with her about it. Don't feel bad. You do a lot of good work for the wiki and you just had a concern. Christ said "Go in peace, my peace I give you." so your fine. Get back to doing good work now :) --Emperor Ray IV 00:38, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Haha, you too. :) --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That?

Thank You, and feel free to ask anytime.--Emperor Ray IV 00:51, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Roleplaying Ideas[edit]

If you need to, you can move all those roleplaying ideas onto another subpage of yours, titled User:Emperor Ray IV/Roleplaying Ideas2, so you won't have that mass of text on your user page. All I ask is that you use the roleplaying template: {{Roleplaying|Title of your Role|Role Group}} for each roleplay (i.e. {{Roleplaying|Detective|Jobs}}, and then put the detective roleplay info underneath). If you have further questions, feel free to ask. -- Jplatinum16 20:16, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Personally I liked the old way better so I put those there just them here to remember them by. But I don't get how to do it the new way. Why don't we just have a page to link all our pages two rather than a link for every roleplay. I think this new system is just a little too completed and would rather just do it the old way.--Emperor Ray IV 23:23, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
The old way had so many problems with it, it wasn't even funny (especially if two users disagreed on what a roleplay should involve), and it caused a lot of headaches for the site staff as well. The new way, everyone is free to develop their own ideas unhindered. It's also extremely simple to use: just create the page (if necessary) and add the {{Roleplaying}} header and your idea and you're done!
Once you've saved the idea, it'll automatically show up here, which is the "page to link all our pages to" that you asked for. And don't worry too much if you get something slightly wrong...other editors will fix any minor technical issues. Another benefit is that you're now the owner of the idea now, so you get final say if you want it, but you can also just mark the page so that anybody can edit it if you want ideas to come from everybody. Images[edit]

Hey there! I've noticed that you have done quite a bit of reverting to existing NPC images lately. While you may like some of the older ones better than the new one, it is a fact that all NPC "profile images" have to be square and show as much of the NPC as possible. Reverting to older, blurry and non-square versions will ultimately end up with your revert being reverted (and I will do that to Janus Hassildor right after writing this). If you think an image could be better, send a PM to the contributor or slap on a cleanup-tag to the file page. The reverts only result in the files' history piling up with back-and-forth edits because of peoples personal taste - and that is not helpful at all. Thanks. --Krusty 18:44, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Opinion[edit]

Since you are online right now, what do you think of this? --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 19:57, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Nice but I don't specifically know what it is. That is to say how to take the quiz. P.S. since you asked me what do you think of my semi-new roleplay Also, you said you were born Greece, are you by any-chance orthodox?

The quiz is taken very simply; you read the question, and if the answer is "yes" you add the points to your score. When you answer all the questions you calculate your score and take a look at the "results" section. About the roleplaying, I believe it's good, and I prefer Marksman over Destruction. Yes, I am Orthodox. --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 20:11, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Well, nice to meet another Orthodox Christian, although the population of Greece is like 98% orthodox so I'm not surprised:) I am Antiochian Orthodox, my second cousin was the Metropolitan Archbishop Shaheen and my great, great, great, great, great, Grandfather was the Patriarch Haddad of Arne, Syria (Syriac Church). Now that I know how to use the quiz I love it--- and I feel stupid having not known how to use it. Thank you for your roleplay comment as-well--Emperor Ray IV 20:23, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. I you want, you can use the same userbox I have at my user page to display your score at the UESPholic Test. --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 20:35, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Thank you, I just might do that :)--Emperor Ray IV 20:37, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

UESPholic Test[edit]

10856! I scored much less (6811). Congratulations! --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 06:52, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

You've got a ways to go...though for someone who just joined earlier this year, you're doing a good job at catching up to me (33,115 after Rigas' recent scoring changes). Robin Hoodtalk 09:14, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
I repeated the test with the way RobinHood told and I scored 9010. --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 09:20, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, it seems kind of a silly way to score it, but it's implied by both the "if you check every box on this page" in the original, as well as things like having separate questions in the "How often do you use" section. Also, I seriously doubt you could get over a million on the original test without counting every single box. Robin Hoodtalk 09:52, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

Sorry for the late read, but thank you.--Emperor Ray IV 21:18, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
