Hi thar![edit]

Hello Tib! Welcome to UESPWiki! It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you would like to spice up your userpage, click here for a list of userboxes you can use, including a guide to making your own.

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Cookie[edit]

You have been given a cookie!

Your dedication and diligence to the wiki has not gone unnoticed. A user has seen the progress you've made, and has given you a cookie because of it. Good work! The user had the following to say:

Great work with the Craglorn images and info! I can only imagine the effort needed to get a good shot of some of those bosses. Btw, I just nominated the Exarch Arnoth shot to be featured on the main page. —Legoless (talk) 18:05, 9 January 2016 (UTC)
Thank you very much Legoless! Yeah it requires some effort although being V16 makes it a little easier to get to these bosses. I feel honored to see the Arnoth shot being nominated, it could definitely be a nice addition to the featured images. Cheers! Tib (talk) 23:40, 9 January 2016 (UTC)

Traits[edit]

Per this, do you mean the sacks have a chance to drop trait materials or actual weapons/armor pieces with traits? —Legoless (talk) 19:09, 25 January 2016 (UTC)

Crafting materials. But maybe "trait stone" is a better name for them after all (in game its simply "armor trait", "weapon trait", which might sound misleading on the wiki). These wet gunny sacks also contain resins/tempers/tannins but I couldn't find a good collective name for these. Feel free to modify the sentence! But the verified tag seems unnecessary in any case. Tib (talk) 21:26, 25 January 2016 (UTC)
Got it! —Legoless (talk) 22:55, 25 January 2016 (UTC)

Craglorn Dailies[edit]

Hey there! Since you were working on the Craglorn quests recently, I thought you would probably be the best person to ask! Do you know specifically which of the Craglorn side quests are repeatable? I have narrowed it down to this:

Lower Craglorn - Dailies
Lower Craglorn - Unsure
Upper Craglorn - Dailies
Upper Craglorn - Unsure

I'm not even sure if those last two exist, but it's probably best not to discount them yet, considering we only just found those three Hermaeus Mora quests. Thanks! --Enodoc (talk) 09:27, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

Well, we could say that the story quests are not repeatable, and the rest are repeatable. The exceptions are the three Hermaeus Mora quests where you need to deliver items to him. The Reason We Fight and Waters Run Foul are thus also repeatable (they are inside Shada's Tear). I think I've added most information, but there are a couple things missing, for example Waters Run Foul requires two people so I didnt finish it.
I don't recall these red quests but the first one could be a skippable mini-quest and part of the story line in upper Craglorn. Like, you need to meet Little Leaf, but if you go directly to her, this quest is simply skipped. I see traces of the second quest and the related npc but im not sure they are in game. Tib (talk) 12:35, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
OK cool, thanks! I was pretty sure the Hermaeus Mora ones were not repeatable, but I had no idea whether the ones inside Shada's Tear (other than The Fallen City of Shada) were or not. A Leaf in the Wind does indeed sound like a pointer quest, so we'll have to see if we can generate the right conditions for that one. --Enodoc (talk) 14:42, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
I think I've figured it out how the story line goes, our current pages are describing it slightly wrong.
  1. You take either Serpent's Fang from Little Leaf or Slithering Brood from Regent Cassipia (they can be active at the same time, I just accepted them on my alt)
  2. If you didn't take the other person's quest you will afterwards be directed to either Regent Cassipia (Holding Court) or to Little Leaf (A Leaf in the Wind) with a pointer quest
  3. When you have completed both of the quests you will be able to proceed to Dawn of Exalted Viper (assuming you are done with Lower Craglorn part)
Well, it seems I might need to come back to these quests and modify the information at some point :D Tib (talk) 17:38, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
That's definitely been the suspicion for a while, so it's great to confirm it. I'll go ahead and change the quest headers so that we have the correct order at least. —Legoless (talk) 17:44, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
Is there anything directing you specifically to either one of those from the Observatory after completing The Missing Guardian? That would help determine which one technically comes next in the story, and which one is an alternate path route. --Enodoc (talk) 19:02, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
Neither, I don't think. I did Slithering Brood last and nothing directs you back to Belkarth.Legoless (talk) 19:27, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
Nvm, misunderstood the question. Nothing directs you to Upper Craglorn, so it really depends on which of the two routes you take to get there. —Legoless (talk) 19:32, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
Hmm, okay thanks. That must be one of the only places in the game where the zone storyline completely breaks down without telling you how to carry on. --Enodoc (talk) 22:53, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
I imagine it's due to the separate updates. The Thief simply tells you to keep your allies close or something after you complete The Missing Guardian (which is the same line of dialogue that hinted at the storyline's continuation before Update 4). In fact, as far as I remember you don't need to do a single quest in Lower Craglorn to gain access to Slithering Brood or The Serpent's Fang; The Missing Guardian is needed only to receive Dawn of the Exalted Viper. —Legoless (talk) 23:24, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
Correct. Tib (talk) 23:27, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

Shayla - a mysterious wolf inside The Howling Sepulchers[edit]

Hi there

Meet Shayla. She is a cutie female wolf with two cubs, residing in the southwestern corner of the delve. She is also not interactable in any way. Does anyone have information about what exactly is Shayla doing there? :) Tib (talk) 13:27, 31 January 2016 (UTC)

I assume she's just part of the scenery. I've never had any cause to interact with or even notice her, so I doubt she's quest-related (unless she has something to do with The Gray Passage, which I've never done). —Legoless (talk) 01:36, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
Aye, it definitely looks like this :) I just had to screenshot the image though! Tib (talk) 11:48, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

Heist Elites[edit]

I noticed you were keeping track of the elite enemies you encountered on heists. I don't think they're limited to two per location though, since I just met The Exiled Swordsman in Glittering Grotto. Maybe it's a random pool? —Legoless (talk) 23:24, 15 March 2016 (UTC)

That's cool that you found another one! I've had strange RNG (same elites in same caves), so it's true that it's not 2 per location. Actually, maybe the type of elite is tied to the type of enemies that spawn? By the looks of it, it could be 3 different groups of which each has a specific elite mob. But the question is also, will all enemy types spawn in all caves? I'm not sure it's the case :p Seems it's gonna take some heist runs to make sense of it, so I'll try to track all this information by making a simple table. I added the "editing allowed" tag also! :) Tib (talk) 10:30, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
Oh, there are different enemies as well? I'll add to the table if I find any others. —Legoless (talk) 16:15, 16 March 2016 (UTC)

() Did you happen to make note of the names of any of the "Outlaw" type bandits that appear in Deadhollow Halls? It'd be good to know if they were the Inner Sea Armature or Chid-Moska variants, or a third group entirely. —Legoless (talk) 16:24, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

Hmm, good question. I *think* I have seen some npc of the Archer/Soldier/Assassin type... But I also have a screenshot from PTS that shows an "Outlaw Sentinel" which is not yet listed. Meh, I just did the daily in there, wish I had checked talk page sooner. Tib (talk) 16:33, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
Could be a mix of Armature and new types. It would make sense to be the Armature enemies, since the Halls seem to be drawing from Morrowind enemy pools. Do you have uespLog turned on? They should show up there eventually if you upload your gathered data. —Legoless (talk) 16:44, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
No but I will get this addon as it seems rather useful. Do you use the monitor as well or is it better to upload manually? Does the addon affect the performance or can you just run it at all times? Tib (talk) 17:14, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
I use the manual upload since the program doesn't work for me. Some users have been reporting fps hits from the latest versions (although I believe it was fixed), and when I ran it on a lower-end PC I used to occasionally crash, but you can toggle it on and off as needed if you notice a performance loss. —Legoless (talk) 17:20, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
It seems to work fine so far, maybe I'll clear the log frequently so the file doesn't grow too big. By the way, this randomized info I was partly collecting on PTS because you can do all 5 quests each day there. The live version should be same, but for the sake of well, doing things right, I thought it's best to mention it.
I also have a note regarding all those small groups. They are *not* multicultural as far as I can see, not in heist locations. Makes me wonder about the other locations, as well. Tib (talk) 09:39, 20 March 2016 (UTC)
Multicultural? —Legoless (talk) 01:06, 21 March 2016 (UTC)
Er, it was probably the sentence "The Ember-Eye Slavers are a group of multi-cultural slavers" that prompted me to write this. To be honest I have no idea what is meant by multicultural here. My point was that I think they are all Dunmer :D Tib (talk) 15:56, 21 March 2016 (UTC)

Ache for Cake[edit]

If you haven't already done the event quest, I was hoping you could gather some info:

  • What is the name of the "speaker" in the dialogue window that opens when you activate the voucher?
  • What journal entry appears while you wait for the chef to bake the cake after you give him the ingredients? Think I missed it :(
  • What's his unique Dominion line of dialogue? Gonna go out on a limb and guess it relates to bananas.

Thanks! —Legoless (talk) 03:15, 4 April 2016 (UTC)

Of course Legoless, I'll do it when I get online in the evening :) Yeah journals are a pain sometimes! Tib (talk) 09:02, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
(edit conflict) According to the forums, the "speaker" is bugged and will show the name of your currently-equipped helmet :P Gotta love ESO's bugs! Just want to mention also that I plan to do the quest this evening, and will set up the quest page if no-one else has done so by then. --Enodoc (talk) 09:10, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
Ok good, I was wondering why I was talking to the Engine Guardian. Glad it wasn't just me! The forums are saying XP stacking is bugged as well, in case anyone was planning on popping a scroll or potion. —Legoless (talk) 09:23, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
Saw that as well when I took the quest earlier, was talking to my Nerieneths Helm! Enodoc, you are most welcome to set up the page, then I'll just add any missing details there. This way I'll have more time for making a cake irl, I'm planning to send in recipe and images to ZOS haha. Tib (talk) 10:21, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
Hey guys, sorry to intrude here, but I saw you talking about this and thought I'd lend some help since I can. I took a lot of screenshots throughout the event: http://imgur.com/a/ECr0y, trying to pick up most details, such as all his dialogue lines, etc. (note: the last screenshot in the album which begins with "Sorry. As much as I like to chat with my adoring public," is when you approach him on a different character after you've already completed the quest). Also, a few things I discovered are that completing this quest does count towards the achievement on how many quests you've completed and the book "Donolon Bakes' goes towards the Eidetic Memory in the "Houses, Shops, and Trade" section, here it is on a separate screenshot: http://imgur.com/U8qohFn. I hope some of this stuff helps, if you haven't got it already! :) KriHavok (talk) 13:08, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
That's a big help, thanks! Didn't find that book when I was there, is it beside the chef? —Legoless (talk) 13:19, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
Yep! I did the Daggerfall version of the quest, and the book was pretty much opposite him on top of a barrel. KriHavok (talk) 13:23, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
That's very nice, thanks KriHavok! Mm, I think I'll add the dialogue to the quest page...? Tib (talk) 17:06, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
The chef dialogue is probably better off on the NPC page, although it wouldn't necessarily hurt to have an excerpt on the quest page for flavour (excuse the pun). —Legoless (talk) 17:25, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
I've noticed one of the lines he says is: "People here in Covenant territory especially enjoy the cake's rich flavor. Comes from the locally sourced flour, of course!", which I presume is dependent on your alliance, so some dialogue may be different if spoken to at either Davon's Watch or Vulkhel Guard. KriHavok (talk) 17:45, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
The alternatives are "People here in the Dominion lands especially enjoy the addition of locally sourced bananas!" and "People here in Pact territory especially enjoy the flavor of the honey. It comes straight from the source in Skyrim!" --Enodoc (talk) 17:52, 4 April 2016 (UTC)

Dwemer Motif[edit]

I noticed you removed the link to Racial Motifs 15: Dwemer. I'm almost positive you can find the motif in its entirety - does this only unlock the 14 chapters, or is there a fifteenth "compilation" book which doesn't appear in the library list? —Legoless (talk) 14:36, 20 April 2016 (UTC)

I'd say both :p But it's not part of the eidetic memory. The Crown Store purchasable motif is probably the same deal, or perhaps that is the purchased motif you're talking about? Tib (talk) 14:53, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
I believe there's a small chance to find the full Crafting Motif in Dwemer pots, even before the Crown Store came around. For some reason I was under the impression that it contains the compilation text I linked above, which I'm sure I transcribed from somewhere... —Legoless (talk) 14:58, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
It does! It's a compiled list, and it also unlocks all 14 books. But that particular compiled book is not found in the library, it only acts as something that unlocks the stuff.
You better help me to rename this racial motif mess, or I won't duel you in arena! Or at least double check the links :p Tib (talk) 15:02, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
Great, so we have unlisted books now too? >.> I've been avoiding the Racial Motif rename since it'll involve the lore transclusions as well, but I'll go through and tag the new redirects at least. —Legoless (talk) 15:09, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
Mm, well the only problem with unlisted book pages is that they have a risk of being orphaned (or something). There's no harm in the crafting book page existing somewhere, although the text is exactly same as the individual small crafting books.... Yeah I didn't know this crafting motif bunch had so many links and lore pages... it's a trap and I walked right into it :p Tib (talk) 15:27, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
Easy solution would be to make our own library separate from Shalidor's and the Memory, a la ON:Unzoned. Probably easier to just link to the compilation on the style collection page somewhere. —Legoless (talk) 15:38, 20 April 2016 (UTC)

DB Ranks[edit]

I made that change based on the 2.4.2 patch notes. If you've checked the values again for the latest version I can go ahead and remove that vn tag. —Legoless (talk) 15:41, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

Yes, they raised the reputation required by 10 as it says in the PTS notes - it is now 50 instead of 40 reputation per rank. But it's not increasing by 10 per rank, it's a constant 50 throughout the ranks, from what I can see on PTS. EDIT: It's possible that this changes again when it goes live.. it did so with Thieves Guild reputation I believe :p Tib (talk) 15:50, 21 May 2016 (UTC)
Got it. They'll have to be checked again to remove the pre-release tag if they do end up changing, but I'll get rid of the vn. —Legoless (talk) 15:58, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

Mudcrab matron![edit]

There's a huge mudcrab matron on Gold Coast! Where does she come from? The mudcrab cannot be interacted in any way.

Tibbie meets a big mudcrab
User-Tib-Mudcrab matron 02.jpg

Tib (talk) 22:08, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

Weird. Is it near the dreugh breeding grounds? —Legoless (talk) 22:22, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
Nope, it's south (slightly southwest) from Strid River Wayshrine, near a River Troll (who is not interested in the mudcrab the slightest). There's a thread on ESO forums about this so I posted a screenshot there as well :P It might be just a random spawn-easter egg-something? UESP addon has logged the mob! Tib (talk) 22:26, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
EDIT: I just fought some River Troll and I was assisted by a small regular mudcrab who got the temporary "companion" tag. Something's clearly going on, the mudcrabs are organizing themselves. We better watch out. Tib (talk) 22:35, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
I saw the mudcrab matron the other day. A horrible creature. --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 15:59, 10 June 2016 (UTC)

Trolling[edit]

Hey, Tib! I just wanted to talk to you in regards to this comment. Dragon Guard wasn't trying to troll, he just has a different opinion on why we do things the way we do. Because discussions on the wiki can sometimes get pretty heated, we have to be very careful about what we label "trolling", since that can often inflame tensions. Usually, we only use the term "trolling" to refer to acts of vandalism or blatant personal attacks. Just because a user doesn't want to accept or go along with a community decision doesn't indicate that that user is a troll; usually it stems from a lack of understanding of how the wiki operates. The important thing to remember is that we always need to assume good faith on the parts of other editors. In cases like this, the best course of action is usually to just stop responding and let the discussion die out once a clear consensus has been reached. Zul do onikaanLaan tinvaak 01:18, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

That said, there is a stage when refusal to get the point becomes disruptive. That particular discussion has certainly run its course, so Thuum is right to suggest just dropping it at this stage. —Legoless (talk) 01:47, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
Yeah I do agree with you.. It wasn't my goal to instigate a witch hunt, but as I said, in another world I would of loved to have a more strict rule to prevent such situations.. With that said,
"If the community spends more time cleaning up editors' mistakes and educating them about policies and guidelines than it considers necessary, sanctions may have to be imposed."
It seemed like you want/need to have a unanimous consensus - if this was the case, consensus would not have been reached, on such absurd grounds that it should be considered disruptive. When disrupting has a pattern (like in that discussion) it becomes trolling, that is the very essence of trolling for me. Claiming that people with same family name do not belong to that family, what would you call it? :) Participating on this site is a privilege and not a right. It's disheartening to see a person who is not active editor and does not even have knowledge of the games/information found there, to straight out ignore explanations given to them, and hammer on about probabilities, which are irrelevant.
(Regarding good faith I would ask if good faith really applies if you consider what I just wrote above?)
Either way, I will write an apology to Dragon Guard's talk page, because even though I do not agree with his opinions, he should not be labeled as a troll. It's not my goal to label or attack, it's just that I tend to react strongly to certain things. Tib (talk) 11:45, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
I think that would be a good course of action. As Legoless said, there's a point when assuming good faith doesn't excuse disruptive editing (which, incidentally, is something I've said to Dragon Guard before), but it's always best to approach these types of situations with a cool head. Zul do onikaanLaan tinvaak 11:55, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

Small request[edit]

Hi Tib, just a small request for the future: when you're nominating pages/files for deletion because they're duplicates of something else (as you did here), can I ask you to link to whatever page it's a duplicate of? It saves admins having to track the other page down, which is even more of a problem if we're not familiar with the game. Thanks! Robin Hood  (talk) 08:25, 28 June 2016 (UTC)

Ah, sorry RobinHood, this was wrong of me indeed. I actually know that we should use links there, so it was just sloppiness/I forgot. Tib (talk) 11:28, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
Not a big deal at all, just more of a convenience. Thanks! Robin Hood  (talk) 19:32, 28 June 2016 (UTC)

HotCat[edit]

Hey! Just wanted to let you know about a feature of HotCat. If you click the ± symbol you can modify categories, allowing you to change one category into another with a single edit :) If you need to edit multiple categories, you can click the double + icon on the left, which turns off the auto saving after editing just one category. Just letting you know! :) Jeancey (talk) 16:37, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

Thank you Jeancey, I was too eager to fix the wrong categories so unfortunately I didn't pay attention to the "modify" option. HotCat is very neat though! :) Tib (talk) 18:53, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

Hidden FI[edit]

That is an amazing shot! I don't normally even notice something that's FI-worthy, but that is definitely an FI-worthy shot in my mind. Robin Hood  (talk) 17:09, 17 July 2016 (UTC)

Thanks, it made me happy to see this image being noticed :) It's from this recent addition to ESO: the Blade of Woe animation. I actually spoke to Legoless a while back and said we should have a contest of people uploading their screenshots and we could try to pick a FI-worthy shot. In any case, I absolutely think that one Blade of Woe animation shot should be nominated at some point! Tib (talk) 21:27, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
Speaking of, here's my entry ^^ —Legoless (talk) 00:32, 18 July 2016 (UTC)
I wonder if it will come down to me and Legoless battling over the FI :D *taunts the guildmaster* Tib (talk) 15:03, 18 July 2016 (UTC)

Patroller?[edit]

Hey, I'm doing a run through of some recommending some user rights to various people, and noticed your history on the site... How are you not already a patroller?!? You can find details about how to become a patroller on that page, if you are AT all interested... There would be a nomination process, but I think you would do alright. Failing that, perhaps consider requesting Userspace Patroller, you are way overqualified for that, but it would be basically automatic. If you are interested in having a bit more rights on the wiki, those are generally the first two steps, you're free to pick either one. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 01:00, 3 August 2016 (UTC)

I asked the same thing on the EU guild, fully behind nominating if Tib is interested at any stage! —Legoless (talk) 01:15, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, we had a little discussion with Legoless in June I think :) I'd say let's give it a try, but how do we go about nominating? Maybe one of you could do that if it's okay? Tib (talk) 11:51, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
We could definitely just nominate you if that's what you want. You do have to accept the nomination, though. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 18:01, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
Yes of course I will accept! Tib (talk) 22:24, 6 August 2016 (UTC)
Alright, expect an incoming nomination. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 22:26, 6 August 2016 (UTC)

() Just a note on the subject of patroller-hood, patrollers are expected to have the "E-mail this user" function available. It can be an existing address or one that's dedicated specifically to being a patroller. You can also get an @uesp.net address if you want. I'm not sure how that's done, exactly, you'd have to contact Dave. Robin Hood  (talk) 00:32, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

From my experience with it, you simply ask Daveh for one, and he makes it your username. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 00:44, 7 August 2016 (UTC)
Ok, I've enabled the contact per mail option, and I'll write that I accept the nomination on the nomination board as well! :) Tib (talk) 16:14, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

() I'm just wrapping up the administrative stuff, but you are now officially a patroller! Robin Hood  (talk) 20:09, 15 August 2016 (UTC)

Congrats! —Legoless (talk) 20:12, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
+1, have fun, I'll make sure you get a fancy jacket or vest with all the patches that come with being part of the Special People Club. :p -damon  talkcontribs 21:18, 15 August 2016 (UTC)

Listing positions[edit]

You reverted an edit of mine that expanded the possible locations of an NPC - "i'd probably be interested in the initial location where she offers the quest". My understanding of the wiki is that we documented everything. Additionally, in this case, the quest is offered by the NPC in three or four locations. mainly I am asking if you wish for certain details to be omitted, and the basis for omitting them. in general. Not wanting to seem difficult. --Rhynchelma (talk) 15:15, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

No no, you were absolutely correct in your edit. I checked this in-game already and the quest is offered in three locations at least. And in this case, my previous wording of "found outside" was also bad. (I thought at first you mean her locations during the quest phases, because she appears in a few places during the quest itself. These would not be so interesting in the opening sentence, because somebody who doesn't have the quest would not care about that.)
What I would write is re-use the phrasing before my own edit - "she is found at/near the college". Then specify the locations when we start talking about quest offering - "When at the college, you will see Baham at either x, y, or z where she requests your help etc etc". Tib (talk) 15:40, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
It can be difficult to describe a location without being verbose, IMO so I tend to be not too specific. The quest marker over the NPC's head seems adequate. Thanks for your clarification. --Rhynchelma (talk) 15:44, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

Reaper Image Request[edit]

Do you think you could take a photo of the Khajiiti skeleton polymorph for the Witches Festival? Something like this. —Legoless (talk) 02:54, 5 November 2016 (UTC)

Of course! A screenshot like this might not show the tail so well though (it looks hilarious), but let's give it a try. Do you plan to use them on a uesp page? Tib (talk) 11:23, 5 November 2016 (UTC)
Oki, here you go. Tib (talk) 11:49, 5 November 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, probably just a gallery on the quest page or something. Thanks! —Legoless (talk) 16:18, 5 November 2016 (UTC)

The Ancient Warriors[edit]

Meh.. so there is a creature Ancient Warrior, essentially a skeleton. But there are also some sort of draugr-Ancient Warriors inside Loriasel who are more npc-like and completely different. I need a new page for that, but not sure what to call that. "Ancient Warrior (npc)"? Is a disambig needed? :( Tib (talk) 16:19, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

"Ancient Warrior (Loriasel)" would work. They're both NPCs. —Legoless (talk) 16:30, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
What about the race? Are these draugr? -,- I'm not looking forward to yet another nedic draugr discussion! Tib (talk) 16:45, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
Kinda hard to tell from the images we have. They're meant to be Ayleids, but they look like Mummies to me. —Legoless (talk) 20:43, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

Pale Watch[edit]

Thanks for the speedy image! I'm pretty certain it's their banner - not seen that variant anywhere else. --Jimeee (talk) 10:06, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

No problem :) It's an awesome place. There's another banner right outside the entrance (with red hand as a symbol), but this blue one is seen inside in several places, so it's probably that. P.S. Seeing I'm addicted to screenshotting, if you have any requests for images or so, feel free to ask! Tib (talk) 18:19, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
Well now that you mention it... I'd have really been wanting an image of the blue-ish skinned Giants of Wrothgar. They are slightly different to the regular giants in the other zones. Their camps are near Shatul Range iirc. I'll come up with a few others for lore pages I'm doing. I can screenshot on Xbox One, but annoyingly I can't hide the HUD or crosshairs, so the images are bad. Many thanks!!--Jimeee (talk) 18:41, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
I think I recently added it here actually Giant :D Tib (talk) 20:30, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
Haha, you read my mind. --Jimeee (talk) 09:42, 24 November 2016 (UTC)

Question[edit]

Hi, I'm new here, and since you seem to do a lot of stuff with Online, I was wondering how I could help. I'm assuming the bot-generated pages need the most work. Also, is there some rule about only adding exact values for things like HP? Because I was trying to update the values for One Tamriel along with other info to make them correct, but someone was reverting to the older, incorrect values just because I didn't add the last 2 digits, which aren't important anyways (and I can't see them on my game). Thanks --Aquilia (talk) 18:57, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

Sorry to drop in, but I think I noticed which edits you're talking about. When it comes to things with values, from my perspective at least, having nothing at all is better than having something that's incorrect, while having something that's accurate is better than having something which isn't. When it comes to replacing something incorrect with something inaccurate, there's not much overall benefit gained. Removing something incorrect, so that it can be replaced with something accurate at a later time, would be my personal course of action. --Enodoc (talk) 20:18, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
Hey Aquilia, and welcome! It's cool to see a new editor interested in Online namespace :> I'm gonna write a longer reply to your talk page.
About the HP values - I suspect that the addon gives us exact values below 100k hp. Above that it almsot seems to get rounded to nearest hundred (or ten), cos they never show to me either. There's nothing wrong with your edit! I think Morten just thought somehow that it wasn't a correct value. He means well though, so don't take it personally. We would probably want an exact value where possible, at least in some cases, but it isn't really critical here. I agree with Enodoc partly, but this is about replacing outdated information (100% inaccurate) with a rounded up number (technically not inaccurate, not to me). If a mob's health is now 100k up from 30k, it's quite a big change and important for a player to know. Whether it's 100,5 or 100499 is less interesting.
Anyways, I've checked the value and I would have written exactly same number, so your numbers are likely all fine :) Tib (talk) 20:30, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
My numbers weren't inaccurate, the ones I were replacing were. But whatever. And thanks Tib --Aquilia (talk) 21:26, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
I would like to offer my apologies if my edit summaries came out harsh and were provoking. I had no intention on showing aggressiveness. I am afraid it sometimes might happen unintentionally if I do not give focus on how to word my texts, as English is not my first language.
As rounded values are by definition only slightly inaccurate, I have no problem understanding the view on adding them as better than totally wrong values. If rounded values are the best we can get with current addons, then I agree we should use them, even on pages where no values are found at the moment. I do however believe they maybe would benefit from be tagged or formatted in one way or another with some indication that more exact values are desired. An indication like that might inspire contributors to update with exact values if a later addon with exact values for over 100k hp is released. —MortenOSlash (talk) 10:54, 24 November 2016 (UTC)
I agree that rounded values are better than nothing, and better than incorrect values. Rounded values are provided now by the default UI, without any add-ons required, right? If so, that's definitely a good starting point. For full values, Azurah is what I would recommend. --Enodoc (talk) 12:29, 24 November 2016 (UTC)
Hm, I tried Azura now, it shows Mal Sorra's health as 103 494. With my own addons, it gets adjusted to 103 500. So I've probably been adding loads of rounded values ^^ The thing is, how many are using Azura or similar addon? Still, thank you Morten and Enodoc for some very valid points. I don't really know what's the best solution here, but it would be nice to have continuity. All in all, I do wish we were able to add such parameters via a bot :p Tib (talk) 15:12, 24 November 2016 (UTC)

() The question about some kind of tagging or formatting indicating more accurate values did not conclude. Might that be a question for the Community portal? —MortenOSlash (talk) 11:46, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

I'm not sure whether that would even be necessary. A while back (before One Tamriel), we concluded that there were only a set number of possible health values. That's most likely still the case, so we just need to know what they are, once, and then we would know, for example, that 103.5k is always 103,494. But I personally would still agree with the suggestion for tagging a rounded value, for example, 103.5k(rounded). --Enodoc (talk) 13:26, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, this was briefly discussed and Contraptions was tracking the One Tamriel health values but I don't know how much he managed to check. I'm less sure about the elite mobs though.. I think there's quite a bit variation there. Anyways, we could try tagging rounded values, but I've probably added loads of them myself, and I'm not sure I will go back and tag them all :( But I can try and tag the future ones. Tib (talk) 14:43, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

Mages Guild Dailies[edit]

I saw in your sandbox that you had a list of relics and places for the Mages Guild daily quest. I did the Rivenspire one and the item is the Mad God's Lost Button, so you might want to add that. I'm not sure about the journal entries, unfortunately. AlphaAbsol (talk) 07:53, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

Ok, thanks :) I've added a "editing allowed" tag there, in case you want to add anything that's missing. Still missing info for 8/15 of the quests. Tib (talk) 17:32, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

You have been given a cookie!

Your dedication and diligence to the wiki has not gone unnoticed. A user has seen the progress you've made, and has given you a cookie because of it. Good work! The user had the following to say:

Hey Tib! Look how far you've come since I welcomed you to the wiki a year and some months ago. You must have a cookie! Nom nom. —likelolwhat talk lulzy to me 02:13, 13 May 2017 (UTC)
<3 Lulzy <3 Thank you! This really made me smile :) Tib (talk) 08:04, 13 May 2017 (UTC)

Patrolling[edit]

No problem at all - you were doing your job (and doing it well!)

It took me a minute to work out why it was throwing up the error.

Also, apologies in advance. I might make some other silly mistakes like this to start with, until I get used to the way things are done over here.

For reference - I'm from the place Jimeee was at :P Timeoin (talk) 22:43, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

Okay, silly question time: Do I include character class? If so, what do I do if there is no class? (For example, Earila doesnt, as she is "quest relevant" (she has indirect dialogue about coming to the Serk for the cure). Timeoin (talk) 22:54, 28 August 2017 (UTC)
Also, do I remove the <-- Instructions things, or leave them in. Timeoin (talk) 22:56, 28 August 2017 (UTC)
I'll leave Tib to answer about character class, as I don't edit in ESO much. For the HTML comments, yes, you can remove them, provided that you've actually filled in the relevant section (or removed it, if appropriate). Also, you're allowed to say "TESWiki" here...we won't ban you for it, I promise! :Þ Robin Hood  (talk) 00:11, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
Regarding classes, well no, I can see that the "class" parameter exists, but it isn't really used, even less so for friendly NPCs. I believe it's been occasionally added to a few generic hostile npc pages. And I'm not sure how up to date http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Classes is? This is likely because we haven't had very many editors who focus on documenting monster abilities and types/classes. (Contraptions and SarthesArai are two such editors that I can think of right now)
Btw, you are more than welcome to join our Discord; we have a separate wiki channel and overall quite a number of users... It's very neat if you need to ask quick questions, or any questions really. We have several "newer" editors there who have been rather engaged in the Morrowind chapter among other things ;) Tib (talk) 13:49, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
I'll join when I get a chance. These days I'm mainly a mobile-editor (so I can play on console and take notes) but I'll join it when I can.
As for classes - I ask purely because since DB patch, you can determine most friendly NPCs' class. (With the exception of any merchants or quest-relevant characters).
Oh, and reply to Robin Hood: Even if I re-founded i? :p Timeoin (talk) 20:50, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
Addendum: Classes is something I can add that hasnt already been added. That's what I really wanted with a wiki - something with a project needing doing that i could sink my teeth into. At the time I founded teswiki, everything was pretty much done here :p (oblivion had at that stage been out for 5 or so years). ESO being updated all the time means theres always something new :) Timeoin (talk) 20:53, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

Characters/Enemies[edit]

Is there a "standard" for what headers are used for listing characters/hostiles in a location? Because I feel like there should be (and probably is) Timeoin (talk) 21:19, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

Brass Fortress[edit]

Wait... the Blackfeather Court is in there? Timeoin (talk) 01:11, 8 October 2017 (UTC)

Firuth's Writ[edit]

Just FYI, hasn't been removed. (Patch 3.1.5) Timeoin (talk) 12:58, 8 October 2017 (UTC)
