Erk is the remnants of an old knight of the Order of the Dragon; all that remains of him is a skull, which can be found in the Order's Crypt. When you find him, he'll ask you to reunite his head with his body (which he says lies deeper in the crypts). It doesn't actually exist, but once you get him to the treasury, he'll be happy. He'll also inform you about the Ice Dragon Claymore and the Order's treasures, which can be used to increase its power.
