Oblivion:Fatigue

The UESPWiki – Your source for The Elder Scrolls since 1995
Fatigue is shown in green on the status bar in the bottom-left corner of the HUD

Fatigue determines the efficiency of your actions. As fatigue goes down it begins to negatively affect certain actions in the game. For instance, melee damage is severely reduced when fatigue is at zero. Likewise, the ability to use stealth and pickpocketing may also be affected. Spellcasting ability, however, is not affected by your fatigue.

Note that if your character suffers a spell or a hand-to-hand attack that lowers fatigue below 0, they will collapse on the ground until the Fatigue exceeds zero. NPCs and most creatures can suffer the same effects. So if you have any enchanted weapons and/or spells that damage or drain fatigue, use them to your advantage! Will-o-the-wisps, ghosts, and wraiths are unaffected because they lack a falling animation.

See Damage Fatigue for more details.

Calculations[edit]

The fatigue calculations has changed substantially in Oblivion Remastered.

Original Oblivion[edit]

In original Oblivion, maximum fatigue is a simple sum of Endurance, Strength, Agility, and Willpower.

Endurance + Strength + Agility + Willpower

Fatigue regenerates at a constant rate of 10 points per second.

Oblivion Remastered[edit]

In remastered Oblivion, maximum fatigue is a sum of one and one third your agility and two and two thirds your willpower.

(Agility × 1.33) + (Willpower × 2.66)

Fatigue regenerates at a variable rate based on your agility score. Fatigue now has a 2 second delay before it starts recovering after taking an action that consumes Fatigue.

Agility × 0.125 + 17.5

Effects[edit]

In original Oblivion, melee damage (Damage Formula) is further modified by fatigue:

Damage × ( ( Fatigue / MaxFatigue ) + 1 ) / 2

Fatigue does not affect melee damage in Oblivion Remastered.

Notes[edit]

  • If maximum Fatigue is increased or decreased, the damage calculation will take that new max Fatigue into the damage calculation.
  • If your current Fatigue is higher than your normal maximum Fatigue, you'll do more damage in relation to how of a percentage of your maximum Fatigue it is.
