Has anyone ever had Thirsk be destroyed after storing stuff there? I became owner and I guess I didn't come back soon enough after ordering mead from Skyrim...... Any way to get the stuff in the room back?75.106.60.23 13:51, 27 January 2009 (EST)

Nope, sorry once the items are gone, they are gone.--Corevette789 21:36, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

Ulfrun[edit]

needs a page if she's a merchant. If not, the 'merchant' title should be deleted 68.75.18.78 21:32, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

You're absolutely right. I just created the page. Still needs an image - I dare say I'll get that before too long. Good spot! rpeh •TCE 23:03, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Did the image. Thanks again. rpeh •TCE 23:23, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

Map[edit]

Should there be two maps: one before the massacre and one after? Just a thought when a map gets put in... 69.211.143.97 19:40, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

It makes very little difference to the layout of the cell, and the ruined version only exists temporarily (assuming the player goes on to complete the quest). It's probably worth including an image of the interior before and after, but an extra map seems rather excessive. -Itachi 19:46, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

Real Place[edit]

You know there really is a place called Thirsk, its a place in Northern England with a strong Viking heritage like a lot of settlements in that area, you think it is worth putting in the article? Chris.S. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirsk

Lute[edit]

Should it be noted that Bathmar Bold-Lute has a fat lute? -DevotedInsanity 02:42, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

It's on the Easter Eggs page but yes it can go here feel free to add it.--Corevette789 02:47, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Done. -DevotedInsanity 02:56, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Stump[edit]

I think there's a connection between the Blood-stained Note found in the Hollow Treestump, and the note in the Hollowed-out Rock outside Megaton in Fallout 3. Both were written by an "E" addressed to an "S". They don't think its worthy of a mention over at the FO3 Wiki, and it probably isn't here either, but it is mildly interesting nonetheless. ComaDivine 06:52, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Is the content of both notes similar/the same? Walbert 07:10, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Well, sort of. The "Blood-stained note" in the stump at Thirsk:

S, Here is the equipment I told you about. Remember, the weak deserve no mercy.-- E

The "As Requested" note in the Hollowed-out rock at Megaton:

S, Here's that stuff you wanted. If anyone asks where you got it -- say it was a gift from your grandma. Happy hunting! E

Probably just a coincidence, or a very minor Easter Egg. (shrug) ComaDivine 05:15, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Thirsk not there[edit]

I travelled north to go to Skaal villgage as part of the main quest and I planned to stop by Thirsk. As I approached it it was there but when a loading area thing came up, it vanished. My minimap still says it's there but when I look down, all I can see is gray on the ground where the building were supposed to be. Any ideas on how this happened or how to fix it? — Unsigned comment by 112.213.204.171 (talk) on 25 June 2010

Probably a scratched or damaged CD causing the necessary models not to load. Try cleaning it and see if that helps. rpeh •TCE 10:48, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. Thirsk is back where it should be. — Unsigned comment by 121.79.25.114 (talk) on 27 June 2010

500 years ago?[edit]

Where are we getting this assertion that Thirsk is 500 years old? In both versions of Thirsk, A History, including the revised one, it says the colonists left Skaal only about 100 years before. Minor Edits 04:09, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

in the notes it says that npcs claim its 500 years old (Eddie the head 05:04, 21 May 2011 (UTC))
Given that the books relate detailed history and include a record of the chieftains dating from the founding, and that record covers about 102 years, shouldn't we be relying on that instead of a bunch of drunks at a bar? Minor Edits 05:28, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
i suppose so (Eddie the head 05:37, 21 May 2011 (UTC))
There are two relevant pieces of dialogue. People in Thirsk itself will say "Thirsk is the name of this mead hall. It was built over five hundred years ago by a group of Nords who left the Skaal Village. They were led by Hrothmund the Red, who became Thirsk's first chieftain." and people in the Skaal Village comment "Thirsk is just to the east of Lake Fjalding. It's a mead hall that was built by a group of Skaal who split from our village hundreds of years ago. They no longer follow our ways, but we've no quarrel with them."
You're probably right that the official history should take precedence but it might be worth adding a line saying something like "The local Nords, however, believe the history of the hall goes back much longer - up to 500 years into the past" or something. Something better written, obviously :) rpeh •TCE 10:51, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
That seems like best approach. Minor Edits 19:44, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
