Attrebus was a warlord and one of the many pretender emperors of Cyrodiil during the Interregnum. At some point after the death of Potentate Savirien-Chorak, he took control of the Imperial City and made himself emperor. During his brief reign, he expelled the Akaviri from Cyrodiil to rid the province of the foreigners who had ruled it during the first half of the Second Era.[1][2] Thousands of Akaviri refugees fled into Elsweyr and eventually settled in the Rim Territories, where they founded the town of Hakoshae.[1][3][4]
Ultimately, Attrebus lasted no longer than most of the pretender emperors of the Interregnum, and his fate is unknown.[1] After his reign, many would-be-conquerors[5] would lay claim to the Ruby Throne until the Reachman warlord Durcorach and his army invaded and conquered Cyrodiil in 2E 533, resulting in the foundation of a new imperial dynasty.[6][7]
