Bog Dogs are a species of stout pack hunters native primarily to Black Marsh and Cyrodiil, mainly in the Blackwood and West Weald regions. They disguise themselves in the marshy regions they live with vegetation that appears to grow in the fur on their backs.[1] Despite their name, they have no relation to actual dogs. Though are capable of being tamed, and make loyal pets.[2]
Bog Dogs can also be found in Rivenspire, primarily around Shipwright's Regret, where they are known as Moss Hounds.[3] Saltwater Bog Dogs native to the islands off of Tamriel's southern coasts are a distant relative to the mainland variety. They are said to prefer rolling over warm sands and seaweed instead of in murky swamps.[4]
Bog Dog dung is one ingredient in a traditional Argonian concoction, said to bring good luck.[5]
