Countess Eselde Tamrith

House Tamrith is a Breton noble family from the Kingdom of Rivenspire in High Rock. They have holdings in the western half of the region and strong trading ties with Wayrest. Their main business interests are agriculture, mercantiles, and commerce. The house is noted for it's strong tradition of piety and religious commitment, with it's favored deity being Arkay.[1] This is reflected in the house's motto, "By Arkay's grace we live and die, but there is no end to the Tamrith line."[2]

History[edit]

House Tamrith, along with the other prominent noble houses of Rivenspire established it's fortune and reputation during the late First Era, directly helping the region prosper. Later, in the Second Era the future king of Wayrest, Emeric, would spend part of his youth in the company of the baron of the house, Esmark Tamrith. Despite this and despite their strong ties with Wayrest, House Tamrith took the side of King Ranser at the onset of Ranser's War and fielded it's troops against Emeric and Wayrest. However, as the war turned increasingly against Ranser the house withdrew it's support of him and sued for peace, becoming the first Ranser ally to do so. They would later declare that they we're forced into supporting his side of the conflict.

After the war's end the Baron Esmark Tamrith would become a force for peace and cooperation. He is credited with the idea of a ruling triumvirate for the region of which House Tamrith would be a part. The baron then went on to marry Janece Elde thus combining the fortunes of House Tamrith and House Elde and creating a stronger political entity. The couple had two daughters, Eselde and Janeve. When Baron Tamrith passed away due to natural causes leadership of the house fell to Eselde.[1] Under her leadership House Tamrith was part of the conflict against House Montclair during it's attempt to take over Rivenspire.[3]
