Balarkh

Balarkh is an Orc warrior seated at a table in the Clan Longhouse at Morkul Stronghold. He is a worshipper of Trinimac, having married his wife Ashgel with the help of High Priestess Solgra, and is one of the few married Orcs in the stronghold to not be the chief.

Dialogue[edit]

"You're not flirting with my wife, are you?"
What?
"Ha! I'm just pulling your leg. Mostly I like the sound of it... "my wife."
Never saw myself being married. Used to be only the chiefs could marry."
That doesn't seem very practical.
"Practicality isn't the point. The Code of Malacath values strength... violence... blood.
Give the chiefs an excuse to kill off competition. Give the young Orc boys an incentive to fight."
So how did you get married if you're not the chief? / So how is it that you're married?
"Met a Trinimac priestess in Orsinium. She said some fancy stuff about Orcs banding together in our hearts.
It made Ashgel so happy. And I can pass my little plot of land to my children. The chief can't say a thing about it."
Your chief doesn't object?
"Chief Abzug? He doesn't have a choice! I'll challenge him, if it came to that.
But I follow Trinimac now, and I don't know if we're supposed to do that. I should ask Ashgel―it's hard to keep everything straight."
