The assassin strikes at the target's back for moderate physical damage. This attack can only be performed if the assassin is behind their target, and the assassin will often use "Passing Through" to get there. Face toward the assassin to prevent them from using this ability.

Passing Through

The assassin jumps above the target to get behind them.

Roll Dodge

The assassin can perform a roll dodge to avoid incoming damage.

Backstabber

The assassin has a passive ability that causes them to deal 20% more damage when attacking the target's back.

While you're snooping around Daggerfall, an assassin will appear and try to kill you.

Bloodthorn Assassin: "Fool! Your interference will not be tolerated!"

Bloodthorn Assassins

When you break into a crate looking for an assassin, when you find one, she will tell you that Verrik is already on his way to assassinate King Casimir.

Bloodthorn Assassin: "You're too late! Verrik's already on his way to the castle! Your king is already dead!"

Later in the castle, Verrik and his assassins attack. One will yell:

Bloodthorn Assassin: "Death to the King!"

Swine Thief

After finding Glutton eating a vine, a Bloodthorn Assassin will appear and attack, causing Glutton to run away:

Bloodthorn Assassin: "What are you doing near that vine? Well, you won't live to reveal our secret!"

Glutton: "<Glutton the pig squeals and runs away.>"
