Forge-Wife Kharza is worried about Graystone Quarry. After she hired an Elf to help improve efficiency, strange things began to occur. Fog rolled out of the quarry and screams were heard. Then … nothing.
or
While exploring Graystone Quarry I met an injured worker. He says that strange things began to occur after the Orcs hired a High Elf to help improve efficiency. It all started after they opened a hole into an ancient section of the quarry.Quick Walkthrough[edit]
- Investigate the quarry.
- Find the missing people.
- Find the control center and solve the puzzle.
- Return to Kharza, and help her to decide what to do about the Elf.
Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
The solution to the "Orb of Illumination" puzzle is as follows: Hit the southernmost Resonator 6 times, the central Resonator 3 times, and the northernmost Resonator once. Only light and heavy attacks will work in triggering the Kinetic Resonators, skills have no effect. It is also important to allow each Resonator to fully return to its starting position before hitting it again.
Notes[edit]
- Mulur can be found in the quarry outside of the quest, but he will appear dead already then. During the quest, he can be seen moving on the ground and groaning. His health bar doesn't turn to zero when he dies.
- Hunt-Wife Bolgar, Shabon and Neramo won't exist in the ruins before starting the quest or reaching the related objectives.
- Tamozag can also be found at Graystone Quarry once you exit the depths after having calmed the Dwarven machines.
- The fog that is repeatedly mentioned during the quest is never encountered.
Bugs[edit]
- Speaking to Neramo after solving the puzzle can lead to an option where he lends you his control rod, where he states that while carrying it, the automatons won't be hostile towards you. However, the rod isn't added to your quest items, and all enemies inside the ruins remain hostile. ?

* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g.,
<Alias=LocationHold>
) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
