Zone Story Quests

Zone Story Quests are the main story arc for the zone. Completing these quests can award you with skill points, experience, gold, and gear.

• The Despot of Markarth: Secure an alliance with the Despot of Markarth.
• Blood of the Reach: Search for the Arkthzand Keystone.
• The Study of Souls: Search for Lady Belain and the Ashen Lord in a Dwarven ruin.
• The Awakening Darkness: Learn more about the prophecy the Gray Host seeks to fulfill.
• The Dark Heart: Search for the truth about the Dark Heart.
• A Feast of Souls: Stop the vampiric assault on Markarth.

Wayshrines

Wayshrines allow free, instantaneous travel between wayshrines that have been discovered and unlocked. You can also travel directly to any unlocked wayshrine from anywhere in the world for a small amount of gold.

•  North Markarth Wayshrine — Located east and north of Markarth. (map)
•  Karthwasten Wayshrine — A wayshrine found on the side of the road just outside of Karthwasten. (map)
•  Briar Rock Wayshrine — A wayshrine located east of Briar Rock Ruins. (map)
•  Rebel's Retreat Wayshrine — A wayshrine south of Rebel's Retreat. (map)
•  Lost Valley Wayshrine — A wayshrine located northwest of Lost Valley Redoubt. (map)
•  Druadach Mountains Wayshrine — A wayshrine in the northwestern Reach. (map)
•  Markarth Wayshrine — A wayshrine in the center of Markarth. (map)
•  Arkthzand Wayshrine — A wayshrine to the north of the Library of Arkthzand. (map)
•  Nighthollow Wayshrine — Located atop a cliff west of Nighthollow Keep. (map)

Cave Delver

Delves are solo-able dungeons found throughout the world. Delves will always contain a single skyshard and a boss who drops item set gear.

•  Gloomreach — A cave with entrances in the Reach and Blackreach: Arkthzand Cavern, containing Falmer and wildlife. (map)
•  Briar Rock Ruins — A Nordic ruin found in the Reach, located northwest of Vateshran Hollows, occupied by the Thornroot Clan. (map)

Points of Interest

Points of Interest are self-contained stories that explore the lore, characters, and locations within a zone. These can award you with experience, gold, and gear.

•  Markarth — An abandoned Dwemer city located in The Reach, that is now inhabited by the Reachfolk. (map)
•  Karthwasten — A village found in the Reach, located north of Rebel's Retreat. (map)
•  Arkthzand Great Lift — An entrance to Blackreach: Arkthzand Cavern in the Reach, east of Bthardamz. (map)
•  Nalzthdbar Great Lift — An entrance to Blackreach: Arkthzand Cavern found in the Reach, located east of Briar Rock Ruins. (map)
•  Understone Keep — The seat of the Ard in Markarth. (map)
•  Reachwind Depths — A Dwemer ruin found in The Reach, located northeast of the Reachwind Ritual Site. (map)
•  Vateshran Hollows — A solo arena found in the Reach, located south of the Reachwind Ritual Site. (map)
•  Wildspear Clan Camp — A camp found in the Reach, located northwest of Rebel's Retreat. (map)
•  Valthume — A Nordic ruin found in The Reach, located east of Vateshran Hollows. (map)
•  Lost Valley Redoubt — A Nordic ruin found in the Reach, located southeast of Gloomreach. (map)
•  Cinder-Heart Clan Camp — A camp found in the Reach, located northwest of Hroldan Ring. (map)
•  Shadefeather Clan Camp — A camp found in the Reach, located west of Gloomreach. (map)
•  Black-Moon Clan Camp — A camp found in the Reach, located just northeast of Bthardamz. (map)
•  Nchuand-Zel — A Dwarven ruin found in Blackreach: Arkthzand Cavern, located southwest of the Library of Arkthzand. (map)
•  Library of Arkthzand — An expansive Dwemer ruin found in Blackreach: Arkthzand Cavern, located northeast of Nchuand-Zel. (map)
•  Bthar-Zel — A Dwarven ruin found in Blackreach: Arkthzand Cavern, located northeast of the Arkthzand Wayshrine. (map)
•  Nighthollow Keep — A keep found deep in the eastern end of Blackreach: Arkthzand Cavern. (map)

Pathfinder

Striking Locales are places of interest within the world. Discovering all of the Striking Locales in a zone will award that zone's Pathfinder achievement.

•  Deep Folk Crossing — A Dwarven ruin found in the Reach, located northwest of Druadach Redoubt. (map)
•  Bthardamz — A Dwarven ruin found in the Reach, located just southwest of the Black-Moon Clan Camp. (map)
•  Rebel's Retreat — A Nordic ruin found in the Reach, located east of Markarth, along the Karth River. (map)
•  Hroldan Ring — A landmark found in the Reach, located southeast of the Cinder-Heart Clan Camp. (map)
•  Ghostlight Grotto — A striking locale found in Arkthzand Cavern, located east of the Library of Arkthzand. (map)
•  Mistgloom Thicket — A luminescent fungal forest found in Blackreach: Arkthzand Cavern, located southwest of Gloomreach. (map)

Set Stations

Set Stations are locations in the world where you can craft items with specific item set bonuses.

•  Druadach Redoubt — A crafting site found in the Reach, located southeast of Deep Folk Crossing. (map)
•  Red Eagle Redoubt — A crafting site found in the Reach, located northeast of Rebel's Retreat. (map)
•  Philosopher's Cradle — A Dwemer ruin found in Blackreach: Arkthzand Cavern, located just southwest of the Library of Arkthzand. (map)

World Events

World Events such as Dark Anchors are activities that occur in the world that are best tackled by a group of adventurers. Completing a World Event can award you experience, gold, and higher tier gear.

•  Reachwind Ritual Site — A Harrowstorm ritual location found in The Reach, located north of Vateshran Hollows. (map)

World Bosses

World Bosses are difficult enemies meant to be tackled by a group of adventurers. Defeating a world boss can award you higher tier gear.

•  Four Skull Lookout — A Nordic ruin found in the Reach, located northeast of Rebel's Retreat. (map)
•  Sentinel Point — A Dwarven ruin found in Arkthzand Cavern, located just southwest of the Nalzthdbar Great Lift. (map)

Skyshard Hunter

Skyshards are scattered throughout the world and can be identified by the bright beam of white light they emanate. Discovering three Skyshards will grant you a skill point, which can be used to unlock or morph new abilities.

Shalidor's Library Books are scattered throughout the world. These books are identified by their distinctive purple glow. Discovering these books will improve your Mages Guild rank and advance the associated skill line.
