Rescuing Alana

I've made both choices now. Not rescuing Alana and going straight to Faolchu lets you find out how to kill him, but Alana dies along with the child she carries. I can't recall the quest reward right now. However, if you decide to rescue Alana first, you go up the road (direction of the Skyshard)and kill her captures and as you talk to her she'll tell you that fire must be the way. She then goes back to camp with this information, while you go down to kill Faolchu as if you didn't rescue her. Upon completion, you meet the two mages (who you gave the sword pieces to) and notice that they have changed genders. They tell you to return to Alana, after giving you some gold, and instead of returning to Conjurer Grahla to complete the quest, you return to an Alana that is the descendant of the original. You have the option to ask her if she's Alana, and she'll yell at you that you know she's a descendant of the original. You get gold and Bastion of the Dragon, a shield. Outside of her and the gender swap, I'm unsure what other changes there are if you rescue Alana. --Saras (talk) 11:35, 11 May 2014 (GMT)

Faolchu descendant

After rescueing Alana and going back to the present the present Alana she tells you she's a descendant of faolchus but wouldn't that mean that Alana had a baby with faolchu instead of you. Why didn't she tell you in the past. Alana, the mage from the present, is not a descendant of Faolchu. She states she's a descendant of "the spirit that appeared before you", by which she means the knight Alana from the past. The only known descendant of Faolchu is Gloria Fausta. --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 14:47, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
