Jafan

Jafan is a Redguard Smuggler held in captivity in Charach's guardhouse. During Unjust Confinement his testimony implicates the Nord, Bernd, in a smuggling ring, causing Bernd to be imprisoned. Villina Telvor, Marshal of the Isles for the Kingdom of Anvil, has her doubts, and will send you to talk to Jafan again. Further investigation reveals that Jafan lied to protect his actual comrade-in-crime, Kyro Gavus.

Jafan himself can be released at the end of the quest, in which case he commits to giving up smuggling and taking up work as a mercenary among the trading companies.
