Race[edit]

Is she really an Imperial? Looks like nord to me. Some other TES portals also marked her as nord.— Unsigned comment by 95.27.234.236 (talk) on 15 January 2012

Yes, she's really an Imperial, based on her race as assigned in the game data. All of UESP's race data is taken from the game data, rather than relying on inaccurate guesses based on NPC appearance. --NepheleTalk 16:23, 15 January 2012 (UTC)

Vex won't give me quests.[edit]

I did a heist job in Markarth, and after that Vex wouldn't give me a job. there was no dialouge option for choosing or quitting jobs.Reloading didn't help either.— Unsigned comment by 70.89.180.125 (talk) at 23:04 on 22 January 2012

"Resentful and Dismissive."[edit]

Towards the end of Vex's character description, the article states that Vex's "dialogue is always resentful and suspicious towards the player regardless of race, gender, or performance." I don't really think that's accurate, but I'm new around here so I didn't think I should just go around deleting or amending content. After completing the Thieve's Guild main arc and a few side quests, she greets me with, "Feeling loose? I have some work available." It's not exactly brimming over with warmth, but it's not really resentful or suspicious either. Bryteline 06:07, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

That comment might have been meant for Tonilia, since that definitely applies to her. I'd describe Vex as professional, but certainly not haughty. Thanks for bringing this up - I'm going to change the article. ?• JATalk 06:19, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
On second thought, maybe that note should be left in. If, for example, you talk to her about your Unusual Gems, she is calm and almost friendly, but when you accept a job she is definitely suspicious and haughty. ?• JATalk 06:26, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
Overall, though, I'd say she may be cool to begin but she can DEFINITELY warm to the Dragonborn. I just told her I had all 24 stones and her response was closer to awe than anything. Sure, she's sending me to collect the crown, and sure - I only had the option to say she was planning that from the beginning. But she doesn't seem resentful or supsicious - more like she's just playing all the angles. Bryteline 11:00, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
Well as a general rule, if it's arguable and has little benefit to its inclusion, perhaps it should be removed. Those who encounter her can decide for themselves. 98.125.56.156 06:37, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

Took the wrong item[edit]

Vex sent me to steal a Copper and Onyx circlet; by coincidence, I had my own copper and onyx circlet that I had enchanted. When I went to turn in the quest, she took my enchanted copper and onyx circlet and left me with the stolen one in my inventory. Extra oddly, it lost its stolen flag AND was listed as "favourite-d" for my favourites list (my enchanted version WAS on my favourites list). 24.200.26.45 21:33, 19 September 2013 (GMT)

This is a known bug for both vex and delvin. Player-enchanted items are treated like unenchanted items by the game, hence the confusion with the clenup script to remove things from your inventory. Try reloading and unequipping the item. — Unsigned comment by Paarthurnax (talkcontribs) at 13:09 on 24 September 2013

"I have no business with you"[edit]

Not trusting Maul when I first saw him, I did not reveal the purpose (unusual gem appraisal) of my visit to Reften. Now whenever I speak with Vex at the Ragged Flagon, she says only, "I have not business with you." Is this a bug, or do I need to find a way to win her trust? — Unsigned comment by 99.25.18.1 (talk) at 00:28 on 27 December 2013

You need to be a member of the Thieves Guild before she will speak to you. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 00:42, 27 December 2013 (GMT)

Nepos The Nose[edit]

I didn't know where to put this exactly, it seemed most accurate here, but this would also apply with Delvin too I'm sure. In the quest, "The Forsworn Conspiracy" when you go to collect information from Nepos the nose, instead of killing him, I pickpocketed the journal off of him and left. Now later down the road in the theives guild, vex sent me off to nepos house to steal a horn. So I went in all sneaky like and the nepos family was still there. I have 100 sneak and all perks, plus an additional 30% extra sneakiness from some shoes and blah blah blah, but it was too bright and I got caught. They all became hostile and I was forced to put them down. I stole the horn, left and talked to vex. Obviously I didn't get the reward because I killed them, but I thought that maybe it could be worth noting, but probably not. Cjesseg (talk) 17:42, 14 March 2014 (GMT)

Whatever you're selling I'm not buying[edit]

She will say that if you're not a member of the thieves guild. — Unsigned comment by PrinceRetro (talkcontribs) at 15:55 on 23 June 2018
