Masalmalu Mendas

Masalmalu Mendas is a Dark Elf therionaut who runs the river strider service in Alt Bosara. For a small fee, she will transport you to Tel Mothrivra or Llothanis. She has an ongoing rivalry with the local shipmaster, Hlavora Gilnith.

For armor, she wears a pair of netch leather boots and a pair of netch leather pauldrons. For clothing, she wears a common shirt with matching pants, belt, and amulet. She wields a chitin shortsword, and carries 37 gold and two bottles.

Aside from her natural resistance to fire and the sanctuary provided by her ancestors, she knows no spells.

Dialogue[edit]

  • Greetings:
"Welcome to Alt Bosara, home to Master Vaerin and Tel Vaerin. I am %Name. I offer river strider transportation to various locations in eastern Telvannis District. Depending on your destination, you might travel by Dragonhead Point, the landmark to the east."
"Welcome back, %PCName. Are you in need of services? Or perhaps you would like to hear about the local area or the local economy?"
  • Background:
"The name's %Name. My background isn't really all that special. I was born here, I grew up here, and I do the same work my parents, grandparents and great-grandparents did. That's pretty much all there is to it."
  • destination:
"My riverstrider can carry you north from Alt Bosara to Tel Mothrivra or Llothanis."
  • Dragonhead Point:
"My parents always told me it was a Dunmeri created landmark, built to provide guidance to the Ships and Riverstriders. Centuries ago, my family supposedly helped transport the stones to aid in its creation."
  • latest rumors:
"I've heard from lots of my customers that they've not had the best time when traveling via ship. Hlavora charges her customers for all sorts of 'extra services' once she gets them on her ship. For example, she'd offer one of her customers seemingly 'free' food, then charge them for it. Or she'd continually ask her customers if they'd like to buy some of her useless junk, which is also double the price once on her ship. I don't believe my customers are liars, but who could make this up?"
  • little advice:
"Don't listen to Hlavora. You wouldn't listen to a thug would you? So why would you listen to her?"
  • little secret:
"I don't really have any proof as of now, but I suspect Hlavora must be involved in criminal activities. There's just something not quite right about her. It's way she walks, the way she talks, the clothes she wears and the amount of money she makes. She's able to hide it well, but I just know she makes A LOT more than a normal shipmaster would. The only viable explanation is that she's a smuggler. And I'm going to prove it. Eventually."
  • Master Vaerin:
"Master Vaerin resides at the top floor of Tel Vaerin tower. The only way to get to the top floor is through magical skill, and few commoners possess such talents. I don't know if he leaves his tower often, but he definitely doesn't concern himself with his subjects."
  • my trade:
"I transport people and wares across the sea with my Riverstrider. I've been in this business ever since I was a child, and my family has a history of providing these services. Quite different from Hlavora, who has only recently been in the business with that rotten piece of wood of hers. I'm too professional to respond to her childish slander, but I'm still going to give my opinion. I think she's an unprofessional no good criminal smuggling thug. That's what I think of her. But you should just ignore that."
