Template talk:Effect Summary
Use on Skyrim pages[edit]
Instead of using an Oblivion image for spell effects on Skyrim pages, should we instead use the Skyrim image corresponding to that school? See an example here. Chris3145 20:20, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
- It most certainly should, but in many cases, we don't yet have Skyrim icons available, so Oblivion icons appear to have been used as a starting point. I suspect that'll change over time as people upload the appropriate icons. – Robin Hood↝talk 19:31, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

- Of course Skyrim doesn't have that many icons in the interface, so it takes a bit longer to find suitable images. I don't think the added border in the above example is suited for a small icon, but the older version of those image could probably be used, since it is associated to a skill. Another possibility would be to use some snapshot of the animation shown when inspecting a spell - I suspect it is effect related. --Alfwyn 19:37, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

- Skyrim effects are animations and cannot be used, unless a still picture is taken... but the black background would look out of place. I beleve that the generic school image is more fitting. Does anyone agree?--Cole1 23:46, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

- Sorry, I don't have Skyrim yet, so I didn't realize they were animations. The original poster agreed, but before anybody embarks on any mass changes, I'd take it to the Community Portal—almost nobody reads template talk pages except us templaters. :) – Robin Hood↝talk 07:14, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

Enchanting → Enchantment[edit]
Per this discussion, it's been suggested to change the Skyrim-specific "Enchanting" header to "Enchantment" instead. This is a minor change, but should hopefully help users who are confused by the link in the header being a verb rather than a noun. Others are welcome to add their input in either discussion, but if no one opposes within the next week, I'll go ahead and make this very minor change. — ABCface◥ 14:47, 24 September 2013 (GMT)
ID Conversion[edit]
Would it be possible for someone with a bit more understanding of this template to apply Template:ID to the "enchid" and "alchid" field when they're in the Skyrim namespace, so that their formatting is appropriate? I think I know a brute force way to do it, but I'm not feeling like risking it. -Caraamon (talk) 22:01, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
- Well, I risked it and failed spectacularly, but we got there eventually. Let me know if you spot any issues. – Robin Hood (talk) 23:10, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
- Seems to be working without problems, as shown in Dragonborn:Chaos Damage. Thanks! -Caraamon (talk) 00:52, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
