DIARY ENTRY ONE[edit]

YES! I have finally learned to write! I found these books when I was about 12 and I have finally learned how to write and read it! One of the books was empty, that’s you, and the other had these symbols in it… the ones I am using now. You might wonder, my friend… who am I? Who dares write inside of you? Well that’s easy to tell, my name is Ghorack, or… that’s what it sounds like at least… I am about 23 years old or at least if I should trust my adoptive father Deraghk… My real family seems to have been travelling towards the heartland and was attacked by ogres… they were all killed and a while afterwards the Goblins found me. I became one of them… Deraghk brought me up as his own son, but I am at least two heads taller than him now and a lot stronger too. Our tribe is called… well I don’t really know how it’s spelled but I think it means the Green Skin tribe… I hope I will get to see this “fantastic world” that the other book tells about, no… one day… I will.

DIARY ENTRY TWO[edit]

Something odd happened today… a group of Rat-tail goblins arrived to our cave and spoke to our war chief… I don’t know what they were talking about but I didn’t like the looks on their faces nor their conspiring little giggles. Still, he’s the war chief and is supposed to protect the tribe. He is also higher ranked than me so who am I to question him? I and my father are raising rats for our shaman, for food and for trading. It’s not like the description in the book where money is changed for merchandise and service. It is rather a switching of goods or, in some cases, tributes to high-ranked members of the tribe. The Shaman, Ugkaf Ugkhaugh (?), is getting old. That doesn’t matter though. His body is weak but his will and magical powers are allmost as strong as Gharkar Thourgh, our god of earth. Oh! And while writing of him, tomorrow is the day of earth when we lit a huge fire and celebrates the creation of our world and thank Gharkar Thourgh for letting us live in it. I’m still a bit concerned about the Rat-tails tough…

DIARY ENTRY THREE[edit]

(Some parts of the text is unreadable because of the shaky handwriting)

I… (Unreadable text)… and my father too. I think I am the only one still alive… (Unreadable text)… during our shaman’s annual and massive prayer, the Rat-tail goblins attacked and just poured into the cave. During the ritual of Gharkar Thourgh, none of us is allowed to carry any weapons so the only thing we could do was run, and run we did. I ran to the place where I sleep at night and picked you, some ink and my dagger up. Then I sneaked out of the cave… (Unreadable text)… I could hear the screams of my friends and people I had know as they were brutally killed by the Rat-tails. And it was him… it was our war chief, Uguv, he led the attack and therefore he will suffer from the wrath of Gharkar Thourgh. And worse for him, the revenge from me!... (Unreadable text)… Gharkar Thourgh, give me strength and I swear that I will regain my tribes' honor!

DIARY ENTRY FOUR[edit]

I woke up early this morning. I could not sleep well and I had very disturbing dreams about my father and the war chief. I knew that our tribe, the Green Skin had allies a few days travel away. Maybe I can convince some of them to join me… Anyway, I started a slow march to the southeast where their lair is located. As I walked up a green-grass-covered hill I heard a hoarse voice, mumbling my name in our (the goblins) language. [Dialog roughly translated to cyrodilic]:

- "Who’s there?" I asked.

- "You call me Gharkar Thourgh…" the voice replied.

From the ground, several rocks flew up in the air. They seemed to be held together by lightning and together they formed an ogre-like creature with smaller rocks, slowly drifting around it. I kneeled to the ground. The blood in my veins felt like they had frozen to ice and I drew heavy breaths.

- "Arise Ghorack…" the voice said. "You must not go to the south west. Instead you must go to the south, to a city called Wayrest."

- "I understand my lord, but what help will I find within the walls of the hostiles?" I asked Gharkar Thourgh with a shaky voice.

- "Go to wayrest, there you must find an orc named Kormagk gro-Gavhul. He is your brother and he is destined to help you. Seek him… you will find him in the “Fighters Guild”." Gharkat Thourgh replied and then with a flash of light and the sound of a thunderbolt, the rocks fell to the ground and scattered… Gharkar Thourgh was gone…

- "What!? Wait! I have a brother?!" I screamed out in the empty forest... but Gharkar Thourgh was allready gone... I got to find my brother, whatever it takes...

DIARY ENTRY FIVE[edit]

I have arrived to Wayrest, I must say it’s not the nicest of places I’ve been to. Why? You ask. Well that’s easy to answer. First, the town is just piles of stones! Why dig upp a mountan to build a cave, instead of just putting the cave in the mountain directly? Second I can write with these strange symbols that I use now, but I can’t pronounce them! I don’t know what they sound like, so, therefore, I can’t speak them. So when I arrived to Wayrest city, I started to speak to a woman with my tribe’s language (the language differs a bit between every tribe). I asked her where I could find a bed for the night… I don’t know what she thought I said. She just gave me the strangest of looks and then turned her back to me and left… So how did I find a bed? Well tore out a page from you... sorry... and I wrote: “Where can I find a place to spend the night?” and then I stopped a kind enough looking man, and gave him the note… He must have thought I could nether talk nor hear because he wrote the answer on the note and then, just like the woman he left. People aren't that nice in the city, are they? So now I’m sitting in my rented room writing in you, my friend, and tomorrow, I will start searching this pile of stones for the fighters’ guild and my brother.
