Welcome[edit]
Hello Reka and welcome to the UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:
- Policies and Guidelines: UESPWiki standards and expectations
- Quick Editing Guide: a quick guide to wiki markup
- Getting Started: how you can help
If you, on the other hand, would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at this link:
- Userboxes: near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to make your own
When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).
Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! (Eddie The Head 11:49, 19 January 2012 (UTC))
Welcome, Reka![edit]
While fulfilling my goal for the day, the revision of at least two articles, I noticed a new name - yours. I would like to formally welcome you to the Wiki, a sentiment seemingly rare here, and only done by prominent officials. I hope you bring wondrous changes to the Wiki, and provide the site with the information you received by 'over-analysing'. Esoterik 11:56, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
Welcoming Users[edit]
I noticed that you just welcomed a bunch of users. Thanks for the consideration towards newcomers, but can you please wait until they start editing to welcome them? Most new users will never edit, and therefore there is no reason to welcome them. While we'd prefer for all users to be welcomed to the site, it's unnecessary to welcome someone who will never edit. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 18:04, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- Yep, sorry - I was watching the recent changes page, saw several new users and got carried away in my eagerness to show the kind of warmth and welcoming I received when I was new! Though I suppose there's also a train of thought that might link the likelihood of becoming a regular editor to receiving a welcome from the community ;) --Reka 18:14, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
